Blake watched him go, biting her lip. It bothered her he was so upset. She finished what she was working on, and got into her car, despite being half asleep. She drove to Rex's apartment, realizing it was almost nine in the morning by now. She climbed the steps to his apartment, unlocked the door, and opened it slowly.
"It's just me." He said, not loud enough to wake him if he was sleeping, but she also didn't want to get shot. She debated getting into bed with him, but decided against it. She laid down on the couch, tucking her gun under her head before she fell asleep.

Rex was already awake, lying on his side, sightless eyes open out of habit. He petted Dakota slowly, heard her but didn't bother respond. A good hour later he got up to make coffee, called out sick for both of them and had somebody fax the reports and information, said they would work from home. He sat down on the floor, turning on the tv and flipping to the comedy channel because he didn't want to listen to the news. He only had basic cable, considering he could only use it to listen. He sipped at his coffee as Dakota nudge his head into his lap.

Blake slept soundly until the TV was turned on. She turned over onto her back, looking up at the ceiling before she closed her eyes. She wondered if this is what it was constantly like for Rex, only able to listen to the TV instead of watch it. "Morning.." She said quietly, sitting up and tucking her gun carefully into the back of her jeans. She walked over, sitting on the edge of Rex's chair. She kissed the side of his head, leaning back against the chair. "I'm sorry.."

"Morning.." Rex breathed, closed his eyes at the kiss. He shrugged a bit in response to her apology. "What's done is done.." He whispered, pushing the hurt away. One thing had come of neglect, and that was how to ignore the hurt. "They faxed everything to the printer. We're sick today." He nodded absently, a hand finding her leg and patting it gently before he got up. "Coffee's in the kitchen. Mugs are the second cabinet, second row." He wandered down the hall with ease, a hand tracing the wall so he could feel the doorway come up, and changed into a pair of jeans, didn't bother with a shirt. He could hear Dakota following him around. Rex seemed at ease in his own apartment because he had it memorized. Anywhere new was so much harder.

Blake guessed telling people exactly where things for Rex was like everyone else telling someone 'oh, just look; you'll find it.' She got up and walked into the kitchen, wondering if she should even be here. She should have stayed at the station. She poured a mug of coffee before she hopped up on the counter, taking a sip out of it. She looked around, realizing just how basic it was in here. She leaned over, grabbing a note pad. She started poking a note into the paper, then laid it over another sheet and started poking through the back, the same way she'd always left messages for him. Then she walked over and taped the small 'I love you' to the fridge before she sat back on the counter, tearing up the paper she'd started off with.

Rex got changed into his jeans and used the bathroom, then wandered back out with a yawn, scratching at his tattooed stomach. The apartment smelled like coffee, and it was a smell that always triggered an odd sense of joy and the laughter of children in his head. A memory he knew wasn't from his own childhood. He made his way to the kitchen, only aware that Blake was there because of the sound of her movement in the otherwise silent place. Fingers danced over the fridge towards the handle so he could grab a yogurt, but paused when he felt the paper. He ran his fingertips over it and simply smiled before opening the fridge and feeling around for a moment. Dakota barked and he pulled a container out, then a spoon from the drawer. "My yogurt, git. Scavenger." He hauled himself carefully onto the counter next to Blake, a hand brushin hesitantly over her jaw, carefully calculating before he leaned over and kissed her.

She leaned over, kissing him softly. She almost didn't want to pull away, it feeling like it was entirely too long since she'd kissed him. She smiled into the kiss, slowly pulling away. "If it weren't for you, I probably would have never had the desire to learn braille. Or to actually manage to get it right-ways onto paper without a machine." She reached her foot out, poking Dakota with her toe.

Rex chuckled softly, heard Dakota growl and smirked. "Oh hush 'Kota, she 's not hurting you any." He wrinkled his nose, kissed her again before opening his yogurt and taking a bite.

She smiled, kissing him softly. She took a drink of her coffee, wondering if she should stay the night just to leave random little notes for him around the house for him to find. "Kota's hungry?" She asked, sliding carefully off the counter. She laid her gun down out of the way, then leaned down to pet him gently. "Blake get you food?"

Rex smiled as he listened to her. He finished his yogurt and got up to turn off the TV. Usually it was something to break the often unnerving silence, something he listened to when he worked out. There wasn't much else to do alone when you couldn't see. He could hear the information beginning to fax through and print, and he grabbed the papers, tossing them onto the coffee table.
