"No, Zain.. I don't want anything right now.." He said quietly, biting down on his lip to try and stop crying. "I'll just call my mom to come get me and go to bed in a little while or something.. I'll take my medicine when I go home." He mumbled, reaching up to wipe his nose. He thought that he probably needed to fix the roots of his hair, but he didn't feel like taking another shower because he got bleach on him.

Zain swallowed, tears stinging his eyes as he drew back.

'Told you, dumbshit.'

He pulling himself to the edge of the bed, staring down at the floor as tears dripping onto his slowly from his nose and jaw. He didn't know what else to do, how he could make it better. Every attempt, Monroe just shot down. And now he was hearing things on top of it.

Monroe looked over at him and sighed. 'Oil and water..' He thought, chewing on his lip. The sad thing was, he wanted them to mix. He didn't want for them to not work out. He was falling for him. Hard. "Just come kiss me and tell me it's gonna be okay.." He said quietly, reaching his hand over to him. "I don't wanna lose you, Zain.. You mean too much to me.." He sat up carefully, wincing at the pain in his foot.

Zain only drew his hand back, resting them on his knees before reaching up to wipe angrily at his face. "That's what I'm trying to do, Monroe," He rasped. "You keep pushing me away...I just wanna make it better..." He gazed over at him brokenly.

'Lies..!'

'Is not,' He thought bitterly, finding crawling over to him. "Don't move around so much.." He mumbled, leaning down to kiss him.

Monroe wrapped his arms around his neck, hugging him close as he kissed him slowly. He drew the kiss out as long as he could before he pulled away, burying his face in Zain's neck. He hugged him tightly, afraid to let go. He didn't want to fight anymore, was tired of second guessing everything that came out of Zain's mouth. But he still thought it was going to be awhile before anything was ever set anywhere near close to stone. "Please don't let go.." He pleaded.

Zain drew in a breath as the kiss was broken. "I won't.." He whispered, lying down next to him and holding him close. "It's okay.." He kissed the top of his head gently, breaths slow and soft. He should have felt happy that Monroe was letting him close again, but he was getting an odd sense of nothing but numb.

Monroe gently ran his fingers over his chest, looking over at him. He searched his face, still feeling on edge. He finally gave up trying to figure out what was wrong and curled up close, wrapping his arms loosely around him. He heard his phone go off and pulled it from his pocket. When he saw it was Luc, he answered.

"Hello?" He answered, listening to the boy talk. "Nothing much, just laying here. ... No, you don't tuck in a shirt with tails. ... No, it's pants, shirt, bowtie, vest. ... Okay." He hung up and shoved his phone back into his pocket, yawning.

"Prom?" Zain questioned softly, gently rubbing Monroe's shoulder. He gazed lovingly over at him as the feeling seemed to pass offer, nestled closer though he was careful not to put him in anymore pain.

Monroe nodded. "Yeah, Luc's going to prom with his boyfriend. He's probably going to end up having a funeral a couple days after because his boyfriend is on the football team." He said, kissing Zain's neck. He couldn't remember if he went to prom or not. He was never with anyone long enough to do anything. Not that he was ever actually with anyone. He leaned up, kissing him gently.

Zain nodded thoughtfully. "I hated high school," He mumbled, reaching up to play with Monroe's hair fondly. He smiled almost absently, scooting closer.
