"I know you did.." Zain whispered. "I'm sorry I'm not perfect, Monroe.. I'm sorry I might fuck up when I drink or when what I am gets the best of me..I'm sorry that I hit you and that sometimes I get mean... I got problems, I know... I'm abusive when I'm pissed, I have problems with my emotions and anger.." A single tear rolled down his cheek. "But I love you...never think any less of that... I've never said those words to anybody else except like, Leah.." He bit his lip, rubbing at his nose and eyes, kissed Monroe's forehead.

Monroe bit his lip. "I just.. don't wanna know that when I'm not with you, you might be doing this with someone else because you're tipsy and you just wanna bang.." He looked away, all his other words choking him. It was hard enough to admit he loved him, that he wanted this to work so badly. But it was even harder to tell him he was terrified of losing him. "I don't care if you hit me, Zain.. As long as it's just me you're hitting, I don't care.." He whispered.

"Imma work on that..not gonna drink alone anymore okay? You know what drinks 'n drugs do.. And then people just..take advantage..."
But his next words had Zain crying. "No, I don't wanna hit you..don't want you hurt...Imma do my best Monroe...I'm gonna love you as much as I know how..I'm gonna try okay? Better myself..." Hopefully.

"I know.. And you've already done a great job so far." He said, gently brushing away his tears. "You told me you love me.. That's the only promise I need that you're gonna get better.." He said quietly, kissing his cheek gently. He just hoped that love was enough to keep them together until everything was okay, until they were both alright. Because he knew he couldn't live without Zain, not now.

Zain let out a shaky breath. "Okay.." He whispered, sniffling. And at that moment, he was at the weakest he had been in a long time, afraid and broken. He hugged Monroe close, then climbed out of the car with a grimace, helping him out slowly as well.

Monroe followed him out of the car, and up the steps on his crutches. He passed Lucas on the phone in the den, talking quietly to someone. He started carefully up the stairs to his room where he laid down on his bed stretching out across it sleepily. Even if it was the middle of the day, he wouldn't deny a nap. "My arm hurts." He mumbled, kicking his one good leg.

Zain sat down next to him, rubbing his good leg gently. "I'm sorry," He breathed, lying back slowly. He yawned and reached over to set his medication aside, then curled up, tracing his hand slowly over Monroe's chest, though he was careful to avoid his ribs. He grimaced after a moment, body aching, and shifted his weight in slight discomfort.

Monroe reached over, gently running a hand through his hair. "You want a few drinks? They might make you feel a little better." He offered, slowly running his fingers through the boy's dark locks. He leaned over, kissing him slowly before he moved a little closer. He didn't think enough drinks to keep the pain at bay would do anything.

"Mm, sure," Zain breathed, running a hand through Monroe's hair gently. He figured he could handle a few drinks without a problem. Besides, it was just the three of them in the house..right?
He yawned, kissing Monroe's jaw gently.
