"The school chat is DMWilliams. And my instant messenger is Dusty Shelf." She looked down, realizing she had a broken nail. She guessed it was time to clip them anyways. She looked around, realizing just how quiet it was.
"I'm sorry I pulled you into this, Oliver.. I guess even the humans around here are strange, huh?" She chewed on her lip, watching over his shoulder when she should probably be watching over her own. She hugged herself, then walked over to the line of trees that started the forrest. She sat down, pulling her torn dress around her. She tried to fix the top where he had ripped one of her sleeves off but it just settled on her breast.
"I feel.. exposed. You can see my back and my sleeve is torn and.." She sighed, drawing her knees to her chest.

Oliver nodded, punching this information into his phone. Sure, he wouldn't be contacting Dusty with his phone, but rather his computer, but it made for a nice way to save the information. "I'm Fly Away Home." Not very surprising that his screen name had something to do with flight, considering. Even before he figured out the mystery, it wasn't all that surprising!
Noticing Dusty looking down at her nails, Oliver pondered. "I'm sure I have some clippers up in my dorm. I can run and get them for you, if you want." If she didn't already have them in her purse or something. Having had a sister in each life, Oliver was pretty well aware that a lot of women tended to carry enough in their purses to stock a bathroom. At least Cindy did.
Oliver followed Dusty over to the trees. Hearing what she was saying about feeling exposed, he removed his jacket and put it over here. "How's that?"

She hugged his jacket tight, pulling it close around her. She couldn't help but smile; it smelled just like him. "I'll just get my maid to redo my nails. Maybe she can repaint them and make them pretty.." She thought for a moment, then yawned, moving closer to Oliver. She laid her head on his shoulder, hoping he didn't get mad. She wasn't used to touching people.
"I'm really glad I found you.." She said quietly, closing her eyes. She was so tired, she just wanted to go to sleep. But she didn't want to go home in order to do so. Then she would have to leave Oliver, and she felt safe here with him, like he would protect her. And that was something she hadn't felt in awhile.

Oliver didn't mind that Dusty laid her head on his shoulder. He simply shrugged when she said she'd have her maid redo them. He wasn't going to argue with her on that one. "I kind of miss Carrie...I've only had a few flashes of her, but she was our housekeeper. Really nice girl from what I can tell."
He put his arms around Dusty once again. Part of him wanted to invite Dusty to his dorm, but he didn't know if he'd feel comfortable doing so. For now, he was pretty content where he was.

"Carrie reminds me of that horror movie that man made.. Where they were at the prom and the girl got all that blood dumped on her. I always said I didn't want to go to prom because of that movie. And I didn't. I stayed home with my mum and we sewed dolls for my little cousin." She smiled up at him, reaching over to lace her fingers between his. It all came so naturally to her, it was nearly scary. She had never so much as held hands with anyone, and she had done that, been kissed, and had a boy's arm around her. All in one day.
"You just turned everything around, you know that?" She asked, looking up at him. Then she leaned over, kissing him softly.

Oliver couldn't help but laugh. "Well, she wasn't like that. Then again, the book and movie didn't come out until decades after that." Which was probably a good thing, otherwise she'd probably never hear the end of it. "She started working for us when she was fourteen, and stayed with us for many years after that. I think for the rest of my life, actually. Her husband worked for us too."
He felt Dusty's fingers in his, and he gave her hand a small squeeze. Hearing what Dusty said to him, he smiled. "The feeling is mutual." It might have started off awkward at first, but things were going quite nicely now.

She kept her head on his chest, closing her eyes. She was content to sit here in silence, so long as she has Oliver here. She stretched he legs out, then tucked them under herself again, playing with his fingers silently. It felt strange to her, having another human there next to her, so close. And one she knew wasn't worried about getting under her dress.
"You're the only person who likes just Dusty." She said with a smile. "Everyone else sees me as a princess. but I'm glad you don't."

It was a rare occasion that Oliver was this close to someone who wasn't family either. He considered his family to be the most important thing in his life, so the fact that he was letting Dusty as close as he was said something about the feelings that he was developing for her. Not to mention he felt an innate need to protect her after all he'd witnessed.
"While I can't say I know the feeling exactly, I do recall a time when people would see me as less of myself and more what I accomplished. I guess that's one good thing about life number two...I have more freedom again." Yes, he could relate to her to some extent, even though he knew she had it worse, especially at her young age.

She let go of his hand, her fingers tracing his stomach above his shirt. She looked down at her hand, and the little lines she had made in his shirt. She smoothed the shirt out, looking up at him.
"That's understandable. You were well accomplished. You were.. without you, we wouldn't have the planes we have today. I'm just a princess. I never did anything special." She yawned, moving closer to him. She closed her eyes, then opened them again, fighting to stay awake.
"You think you'd be bothered if you didn't know?" She asked, looking up at him.

Oliver blushed a little at her words. He couldn't help it. He also couldn't help but shake his head at Dusty's own words. "Yet. The key word there is yet. You don't know what you might do in the future." Whether that was as a princess or had something to do with what she was studying in college, Oliver wasn't sure, but Oliver felt it was important to stress this point. She was only what, eighteen or nineteen?
The second year college student's expression betrayed puzzlement at Dusty's next words. "About my past, you mean? I think it would bother me. It was bothering me before. I didn't like not knowing what was going on with me, especially with everything becoming more prominent as of late."
