"No.. No, don't go.. Please.. You just scared me.." She said, throwing her arms around his neck. She hugged him tight, burying her face in his neck. She was so confused, so many questions running through her head. But one stuck out the most.
"Oliver, why.. do you think you're one of the Wright brothers?" She asked, looking up at him. She ran her hand across his cheek, her other hand finding his. She slipped her fingers between his, not wanting him to leave.
"They really are real, aren't they? The vampires and werewolves.." She looked up at him, working her jaw from side to side. "You weren't joking.. Were you, Oliver?"

"Well, I can understand why you'd be scared." He was bothered seeing Baz's flashbacks in front of his face, and Baz's hadn't lasted as long as Oliver's most recent. So how had Dusty felt watching Oliver in the midst of his?
Her next question made Oliver wince a little, though a chill went through his spine as he felt her hand on his cheek. It wasn't an unpleasant chill either. He enjoyed the fact that she was so close to him, but he was afraid he'd scared her off with the answer to her own question. "I...I don't want you to think I'm crazy." Was all Oliver said at first.
Then Dusty connected the dots from earlier. He wasn't sure if she'd still think him crazy if he said yes, but she was asking a direct question, and he felt as though it was only fair to answer her truthfully. "Yes." He stated, all too aware of the fact that their hands were together, and giving her hand a small squeeze.

"I'm not going to think you're crazy, Oliver.." She said quietly, looking up at him. It worried her to see him like this. She was growing partial to him. She couldn't deny he made her heart beat a little faster, made her stomach do flips and knot up.
"I.. I'm sorry I called you a liar.." She said, biting her lip. She felt terrible that he was telling the truth and she had just assumed he was lying. She pulled him over to a tree, sitting down under it. She knew her father wouldn't fuss. She always ran off during these things. She folded her hands in her lap, but felt lost, so she reached over and took his hand again.
"I just don't know what to think.. The people around me are monsters? You're not a monster, are you, Oliver?" She asked, looking up at him, obviously scared by the idea.

Oliver still felt a little hesitant given the way that Dusty had reacted back at her house. He was growing quite partial to her as well, and the last thing he wanted to do was scare her off.
He took a seat next to Dusty when she sat down by the tree. Oliver looked a bit lost as well, but managed a smile when she took his hand. Apparently that made them both feel better, so Oliver would keep it that way.
Oliver bit down on his lip. "Well, I don't know...I don't know who a lot of the vampires and werewolves are myself, though I've met an angel and...someone else like me."
He swallowed and took a deep breath. He didn't know what she classified as a monster, but she hoped he didn't classify him as one.
"I'm not a monster." He stated truthfully, then added. "But I'm not exactly normal either."

She sighed, holding his hand tight. "Yeah, well I'm not normal either. If you're gonna play that card. But you're scary when you're not normal. You really scared me, Oliver.." She said, trying not to cry. She tended to cry when she was scared, or worried. And in this case, she was a lot of both. She squeezed his hand, looking down as a tear fell down her cheek. She couldn't blame him for not telling her. They had only met a couple of hours ago. But she still was scared.
"I thought you were going to die or something.. And that would be a darn shame because I think you're the coolest person I've met.." She admitted, looking up at him.

Upon seeing just how worried Dusty was, it was Oliver's turn to be a bit forward. He pulled Dusty close to him in an embrace, attempting to comfort her. "Well, no, no one's entirely normal, but you..." Oliver faltered. She was more normal than he was, and he didn't want to scare her any more than he already had.
He kept up the embrace, looking down at her when she said she thought he was going to die. He couldn't help but let out a nervous chuckle at that. "Die? No...I was just having a flashback. I'm sorry."
Then he caught the rest of what she said. "R-really? Cause I was thinking the same about you. I've never met a girl before who can actually sorta keep up with my rambles." He chuckled lightly, an actual chuckle this time.

Dusty let him pull her close, closing her eyes as she wrapped her arms around him. "I just.. didn't know what to do.. I'm sorry I kissed you.." She mumbled, laying her head on his shoulder.
"Well, I've never met a guy before who doesn't want to be around me because I'm royalty." She said, looking up at him, She reached up a hand, touching his jaw again, as if to see if he was still there.
"What made you think you're Orville?" She asked, watching him carefully. She didn't know what she would do if he went into another one of his fits. Or flashbacks. Or whatever it was he had called them. She might just freak out and run back inside and get her father.

"Don't apologize. It got me out of it, didn't it?" Plus, he actually kind of enjoyed it.
Oliver shook his head with a smile at her next words. "Well, you've met one now." He responded, unable to keep himself from thinking that he understood where she was coming from in a way, even if he couldn't remember all the details.
Oliver looked down at Dusty worriedly. Again, he hoped that he wouldn't scare her off. But...she was asking, so she wanted to know, didn't she?
"I've always felt a little...off. I had a hard time spelling my name as a kid. Spelled it as Orville, actually. Parents thought I had dyslexia until they realized that my name was the only thing that I kept spelling wrong. Eventually I grew out of it, I guess you could say, but every once in a while I'd have these dreams. They were never as strong as they were when I got here, though." Speaking of rambles...
"Anyway, I did some research, and I've kind of been...piecing things together."

She laid her head back on his shoulder, listening to him quietly. She couldn't help but want to curl up in his lap, just be held by someone for the first time in her life, to know someone cared. She pushed the thought away, knowing that was a fool's way of thinking. To do that would be shaming her name.
She took a deep breath, biting her lip. "But.. you're Oliver, right? You're still the boy sitting here, right? You.. you aren't going to just.. disappear, or something are you?" She looked up at him, her hair falling in her face. She brushed it away, tucking it behind her ear. "You can't leave me, Oliver.." She whispered. He was the only thing she had, the only person she could be Dusty around, instead of Princess Dusty. He didn't force her to do anything, he didn't act like she was royalty.
"You're the only person who sees me as Dusty.."

Oliver looked taken aback at Dusty's words. "Of course I am!" He would never not be Oliver. Even during that flashback, he was still, in essence, the same person, wasn't he?
"I'm still me, I just happen to have...lived before. Dusty, that would be like me saying that you weren't Dusty anymore just because you had to be Princess Dusty for the crowd."
In reality, he did consider it to be quite similar. It was very easy for him to be both Orville Wright and Oliver Winchester, because that was what he was.
"I can't be the only person who sees you as Dusty. Surely your parents see you as Dusty as well."
Oliver kept his arms around Dusty, feeling as though this was the best course of action.
