"You don't marry off your daughter to someone she doesn't love, Oliver.. But you marry off your princess.. Because it doesn't matter what she wants. It doesn't matter that she would rather be undera tree with the most amazing guy around here, or working on cars, or building rockets.. It matters that she's carrying on the title. I don't want to be the princess. I want to be someone's princess.. And you're the only person who sees that.. You can be Orville and Oliver.. Just so long as Oliver gets to stay here with me.. Because he's my calm in this horrible storm." She realized they were both rambly and smiled.
"And even if you were a bit off your rocker.. The fun ones are always a bit mad, aren't they?" She asked with a smile, looking up at him.

Oliver wasn't so sure that he liked the way that Dusty was talking about her parents, but he also surmised that she had a point. A sad point, though.
"You're definitely not like any princess I've ever met...and believe it or not, I have met a few, even if not all of the memories have come back to me yet." He chuckled. "There was a Crown Prince though who begged me to take him up flying...I think he's probably the closest it's gotten. Obviously he wasn't as pretty as you, though." He wasn't even sure where the Crown Prince comment came from - It simply flowed out of his mouth. However, just as soon as he said it, a small flashback was triggered, though Oliver didn't lose track of where he was this time. Instead, it simply played in his mind like any other memory would, save for the fact that this one was one that hadn't been pulled from the archives in quite a while.
"Don't worry. He will be. I will be. I may have flashbacks here and there, I won't lie, but I'll always be back." And this he knew to be a fact. He grinned. "Around here, I think that saying is as true as ever."

She rested her head on his chest, just listening to his heart beat. It made her feel better, like no one could take him away from her. Or nothing. That he would always be there for her. She closed her eyes, content with the feeling of his arms around her. She looked up at him again, her blue eyes searching his face. She finally had someone to count on, someone who as a person, not a pretty face. She reached up again, touching his jaw gently.
"Did you ever have a girlfriend in your other life?" She asked, pulling her knees up to her. "Or do you not remember? There's things you don't remember, right?" She couldn't deny it interested her.

Oliver had to admit it that he enjoyed it out here with only himself and Dusty. It felt comforting to know that despite her original hesitance, she was willing to accept the truth of what he was saying. He held her close to him.
Her next words, once again, brought forth answers that, while he did not 100% remember in full detail, he knew to be the truth. "I did, though it was pretty early on. I never married." He admitted, feeling a bit uncomfortable discussing past girlfriends in front of Dusty of all people. Oliver couldn't help but let out a wry laugh at Dusty's next question. "There are some things I don't remember, but every day I remember more and more."

She smiled, wrapping her arms around him again. It felt right, being here in his arms. Like he actually cared, actually wanted her to be happy.
"SEE, I TOLD YOU SHE WAS OUT HERE!" She looked up to see John, and curled closer to Oliver; it was obvious the guy terrified her.
"No.. No! Let me go!" She screamed as she was pulled up off the ground. "Stop! Put me down!" She cries as she was pulled towards the car, the clip in her hair falling out, and one of her shoes falling off as she struggled against them.
"Oliver.." She cried, wiggling until their grip slipped. She ran back to Oliver, dropping to her knees in front of him. "Oliver please.. Please.." She clung to him, pressing her lips to his before she was pulled away and put back into the car.

Oliver was stunned. He hadn't expected this display. He knew that her parents wanted her to marry this guy, but to be literally ripped away and forced into it? That wasn't right at all. There wasn't much he could do other than stand and watch in horror, though he felt half tempted to call the cops - Couldn't this technically be considered kidnapping?
Then again, if this had anything to do with her parents, he knew that such a charge wouldn't stand a chance...
Oliver felt his lips on hers, and gave her one deep, last kiss before she was pulled away again. Oliver scrambled to his feet, but he knew there was nothing he could do. She was already put into the car, and he was helpless to do anything about it.

It was late, it was cold, and she was tired. But she had walked all the way back to the dorms, giving the woman at the desk of the boys dorm all the money in her pocket just to go get Oliver. She shivered, watching her walk away. She lowered her head, realizing her dress was pretty much ruined.
She heard someone move, and looked up at Oliver. She ran over to him, hugging him tightly. "Oh, Oliver.." She whispered, reaching up to stroke his cheek. She couldn't help but cry, everything running through her mind.
"I don't want to go back, Oliver.. He.. He tried to hurt me. He tore my dress and.." She looked away, wringing her hands together. "I don't know who else to come to.."

Oliver was back at his dorm, trying to distract himself, but his mind kept drifting back to what happened earlier. He was back in 'normal' clothes, normal clothes that felt a bit odd on him now. That vague feeling of not belonging that he'd always had was starting to become stronger as of late, as he now knew that he didn't entirely belong. Then again, maybe he did belong in this town, given that it was a town of misfits.
The young man was surprised to see Dusty at the dorms, looking worse for the wear. He looked at Dusty with wide eyes when he saw her ripped dressed, and heard the words that she was saying. "Tried to hurt you. He didn't actually hurt you, did he?" Oliver looked her over.

She shook her head, not wanting to discuss it, not with other people who could hear. She felt like it was wrong, coming here and bothering him. But if she would have stayed, she was sure he would have done a lot worse than what he did end up doing. She walked out to the empty lobby, sitting down in one of the chairs. She tried to fix her dress, but knew it would be to no avail.
"He told me.. if I wanted to be a civilian he would treat me like one and he tried to get my dress off.." She trailed off, looking down at her hands. It wouldn't be the first time the boy tried to sleep with her against her will. And knowing him, it wouldn't be the last. She wiped at her eyes, both tired and upset. She felt like she was at her wits end.
"It's only a matter of time before my parents get wind that I left his house and they send someone after me.." She mumbled, brushing off her dress.

Oliver didn't feel that it was wrong at all. In fact, in some ways, he was almost flattered that she'd come here when she was in distress. At the same time, though, he didn't like to see her in distress. And Oliver wasn't a very quick to anger sort of guy, but even he felt half tempted to hit this John guy hard.
"What do you think your parents would think if you told them the way he acted around you?" Regardless of whether or not the guy was of 'noble blood' or not, most parents didn't want their child to be around someone like that. Then again, this was royalty, and if the two were betrothed since birth (which Oliver didn't know, but he wouldn't be surprised if that were indeed the case), that was a harder contract to break.
Oliver took a seat next to Dusty, looking over at her with concern etched in his expression. "You're eighteen, right? They can't technically force you to do anything, can they? You're an adult."
