"Seth watch out!"
The words rang in his ears even moments after he swerved around the dog and hit the light post. Breaths wavered, his eyes closed, heart hammering in his chest.
"Seth...Seth please open your eyes."
He groaned at the stressed voice, the cool hand on his cheek. "It's..okay Cala.." He whispered, turning his head, grimacing.
"Oh my god..Seth..." She rasped. Adrenalin had hidden the pain until now. "I'm not losing you dammit.." She whispered. Tears rolled down his cheeks and he closed his eyes as he listened to her voice. "We can make it through this.
He cried out as she hauled him from the crushed metal of the drivers side, clutching at his right shoulder, felt wram blood trickling down his shins from the metal that had been driven deep and suddenly pulled away. "My leg," He rasped, leaning up against his little sister.
"We..gotta go back Cala, I need to get the other car..." She fought him, said he needed medical help, didn't want to see the house.
But here they were in the cobra. She barely knew how to drive, didn't have her license. She was supposed to go get it next week, had ripping up her hoodie to tie his shins and sling his arm, made him lay in the back.
He had fought her, she needed him right now. Finally the car pulled to a stop in a lot and he felt her fingers in his hair. "Can't get much worse.." He heard her rasp, he voice cracking. "We don't have money Seth...you need help, we don't even have a place to stay.."
He only gazed up at his sister in silence. How had things gone so wrong? 'What did we do...?'
He felt Cala touch his shoulder, yelped in pain and she drew back. "I-...I can't heal anything like this...sorry.." He knew it wasn't her fault.

In the dark night, a black, big cat walked through an alley, and out on the otherside walked a woman, dressed in tight red skinny jeans, with a white tee and red writing. Her jewrly blaring red. A subtle laugh rustled from her longs, and she turned onto the side walk, walking towards her jeep. Adele thought it was time to return home to her dear old brother. He must be worried sick It made her grin, but ony slightly.
Her eyes looked over toward an empty lot. Two lone fingures seemed to be near a damaged car. Adele squinted, and looked toward her car, wondering if she should just go on her way. Brushing her bangs from her face, she looked both ways and crossed the street. "Hello..?" she called as she got closer.
"Hello..are you okay?" Her heels clicking to a stop as she reached the car. Hmm..impressive But the kids weirded her out. Not that she didn't like kids, it was strange to see a nice car being driven by kids. "Can I help?" Adele asked, pulling out her phone from her back pocket.

Seth felt Cala draw away, huffed faintly. He was glad they hadn't lost this car in the fire or they would be sleeping outside right now, considering the other was completely totaled a few blocks up the road.
"My brother needs medical care...but no way do we have the money.. I-...we just-"
Seth opened his eyes, sitting up with a pained grunt. He hurt far more than he would show. "we just lost our parents in a house fire, and I crashed the fucking car," He rasped.
He saw Cala glare at him for sitting up, but her gaze faded to grief and she looked away. He bit his lip, knew she was crying, knew she was hiding it. "I'm fine Cala..I don't need help.." He knew he did. She didn't need that pressure right now though.

Adele looked at them both, her face blank with no emotion. It wasn't how she hoped to spend the night, but how could she just leave two kids? "I can take you to the hospital? Or back to the apartment? At least so you can rest, clean up those cutes and bandage anything else." she offered, stepping closer to the car to look in at the boy. A tough one, good he needs to be. Especially if they're parents died. Adele thought, looking over toward the girl.
"I don't guess you drive much? Well.. if you let me help I can just drive this car and come get mine tomorrow or something." Adele shrugged, inspecting the car. A cobra? Who gave that to kids? Her eyes rolled at the thought. She opened the drivers side of the car door, looking for the keys. She was a very impatient person, and the boy didn't need to be laying in the back of the car on such a cold night anyway. "So to the hospital? Or my apartment?" she asked once again.

Seth huffed faintly. "I don't...think bandages're..gonna do much..." He gazed down at the bloodied rags tied over his shins, laid his head down again.
Cala stared at her warily. "Just..give her my keys Cala, it's okay."
"You need to go to the hospital.." Seth winced. "Not right now..." He mumbled. He wanted her somewhere safe first, where he knew she would be okay, had food and shelter. He wasn't sure how long a hospital trip innthis condition would take.
He watched her hand the keys over, his face blanching with pain as he closed his eyes, a shuddering breath passing his lips.

"Then I'll drop her off at my brothers place and take you to the hospital. I'm not having a dead kid held over my head in this town. Anything, but that." Adele took the keys, and slipped into the drivers side smoothly. She waited for the girl to climb in and shut the door. Putting the key into the igniton, she switched gears and pushed her foot on the gas pedal, speeding out of the parking lot onto the street. There was no time to waste. "Now, when we get to the apartments, go to the third floor and knock on room 124. My brother will answer the door. His name is Jayden. Just tell him we will be back as soon as possible."
Adele skidded onto the street of the apartments, and pulled up next to the steps. "No arguing, please. We will be back tonight. I've got the hospital crap covered." Her began to buzz with a phone call, "Yes, we'll be right there. I want the doctor in the room as soon as we arrive." Her words were quick, and a few seconds later, the phone call ended. She looked back toward the girl, who still seemed to be sitting in the seat. "I promise, he'll be fine. And Jayden will take good care of you."

Seth heard Cala climb intothe passengers seat, watching her eyes close in grief through the mirror. He didn't know what to say, how to comfort her... Because 'it's okay' would be a lie right now.
They pulled up to the apartments soon enough and she got out, opening the back door and stooping to give him a kiss on the cheek. He smiled gently, watched her go.
Upon finding the door, Cala knocked softly and waited for it to open. "Uh, Jayden? Your sister told me to come here...she's taking my brother to the hospital."
Seth groaned once she was no longer in the car. "Shit.." He muttered under his breath, swallowing. "Thanks..for helping out." His thriat felt dry, stomach churning in nausia from the unbelieveable pain in his shins and right shoulder at this point.

Adele had zoomed off shortly after the girl had closed the door. "Don't worry about it.. I had to come sooner or later" She laughed, turning swiftly before the light turned red. It was a straight shot to the hospital and the would make it in no time. She adjusted the mirror to see the boy in the back seat. She watched his face curl with pain, and she adusted the mirror back to where she could see out the rearview window. "You'll be going straight into testing, and maybe surgery if they have to. Just relax, my friend is a good doctor. And everyhing is paid for."
Jayden jolted suddenly from his seat in the couch. Walking over to the door, he cracked it open, seeing a girl outside. At the mention of Adele's name, he opened it and invited her in. "Um..welcome to my apartment.." Of course his mind was more focused on Adele. "Do you want a drink, or anything? Change of clothes? Adele's room is straight back and on the right.." He noticed a few tares and some black spots on the girl's clothes.
"Help! Help!" Adele yelled as the car screeched to a stop, while she jumped out of the drivers side. She ran around to the passengers back side, and opened the door. Stepping out of the way, to let the nurses help him get out of the car and onto the portable hospital bed. "They're going to take good care of you. If not tell me, I'll handle it." The last words seemed to come out as a growl and mostly towards the nurses. "I'll see you when you get back to the room." Adele said smoothly as they reached the front desk and they began to roll him down the hall toward the x-ray lab.

Seth huffed in response to her laugh. On a good day he would have let himself be amused as well. Eyes closed as she drove, barely seeming phased at this point that a stranger was driving his expensive car.
--Once Cala was let inside the house, she shook her head mutely. "I'm fine.." She rasped, voice rough with the grief she was fighting, looked around awkwardly.--
It couldn't have been sooner that Seth felt the car pull to a stop. He smiled faintly at her words, grimacing as he was helped from the car and laid down gently on the stretched. He closed his eyes with a shaky breath as they pulled him into the x ray room and cut him free of his shirt and the makeshift bandages on his shins, putting him on the table carefully.
After the scan, they helped him to a surgery room, gave him shots for any possible infections from the metal, and fixed up his right shin, lining a bar against the bone once he was sedated. Both shins soon stitched and wrapped neatly with gauze, the started on his shoulder, cutting along the shoulder blade and precariously near part of the spine, screwing the bones in place, wrapping the area, and putting his arm in a sling.
The hours that passed through the surgery and sedatives wearing off, and soon it was dark as Seth stirred with a groan. Pain medication in his ivs, he ached horribly, but didn't feel much else. He couldn't use crutches considering his shoulder, they said. It would be painful to walk until the bones in his shin healed up a bit more and they could removed the metal plate bracing the area beneath the gauze.
Then came the problem he had already been wary about. He was eighteen thank goodness, could release himself. But now he had to keep his sister from being hauled off anywhere. She was sixteen, he didn't see the big deal, didn't really want to think on it right now. Too much had gone wrong today, and he sent a mental plea to his biological father, knew he would not hear back.

--Jayden nodded and walked over to the couch, sitting down and turning the tv on.--
Adele watched as they rolled the boy into the room. "Is he okay?" she asked, walking over to the doctor. He gave a smile at Adele, looking her up and down. She felt like punching him. The only thing she wanted right now were answers and she wanted to get the siblings back together. "I don't have time, Dr. Marshall. Please just tell me.." Her voice harsh, and her eyes seemed to peirce through him like a dagger.
"Okay, Adele.." The doctor sounded sarcastic, and turned to the boy. "He had some serious problems, but like you asked everything has been fixed and he can go home when he wakes up, fully."
Adele nodded her head, the entire time watching the boy. He had bandages everywhere. A grim frown crossed her face and she turned back to the doctor. "We'll need a wheel chair." She walked over to the bed as she heard a groan. She sat in a chair that was close to the hospital bed, wondering how much pain he was. "Now." She demanded. The nurses fled at the sound of her voice, as well as the doctor.
Soon, they brought the chair and wheeled it beside Adele. "Thanks, you can leave now." She didn't even look up to watch the nurse leave. Her eyes looked for any movement of the boy. "Kid?" She questioned as she heard another groan. Of course he wasn't really a kid, but she wasn't sure of what else to call him.
