"Well, the guy is really getting irritating. If I didn't want to sleep with him two years ago, I don't want to sleep with him now, and I won't want to sleep with him fifty years from now. He thinks every girl he looks at he has to have, and that's not the case. I'll take the harassment over actually losing my card to an idiot like him." She said, stopping at a light. She glanced back at the dog and smiled, patting his head gently.

"Coffee sounds fantastic. My head is screaming." She said with a laugh, driving away from the light. She drove a little ways more before stopping at the coffee shop. She pulled her car into one of the parking spots, then got out, opening the back door. She took Dakota's leash before walking around and opening Rex's door. She took his hand again, leading him into the shop.

"Coffee, black." She told the guy standing there, pulling her cash out of her pocket.

"You're a virgin?" Surprise flickered in his distant, blind gaze and he smiled faintly. "It's always cool when people don't lose it in high school, wait to find the right person."

He realized he was rambling and stopped, felt the car slow to a stop itself and opened the door. Blake was taking his hand again.

He followed her and Dakota into the shop, ordered a black coffee as well and grabbed her wrist at the rustle of money. They all knew him here, he had nobody but himself to worry about and often sat around playing guitar, handed his wallet to the guy in full trust. "For both of them." The proper amount was taken and the wallet returned and he offered a sightless smile in turn. "Thanks."

Blake smiled, taking her coffee from the man. She put Rex's in his hand, then guided him to a table in the back where they could talk alone. She helped him to his chair, then sat down next to him. She pulled out the other chair, letting Dakota jump up into it.

"I actually didn't intend on waiting. But in high school I was a bit of a uh.. geek. No guy would touch me." She laughed, spinning the hot liquid with her wrist. "And I've been too busy with work to actually even look for a home, so I never really bothered with guys. Not that guys haven't come onto me. They just.. I dunno. They all acted like pigs in one way or another, like they couldn't see past the boobs and gun. I just.." She shrugged, then realized he couldn't see her. "I dunno. I guess no one's really caught my eye.. Er.. attention."

She thought back to the guy who had attacked her, wondered what would have happened if Rex hadn't had Dakota. "You know, I never kissed anyone besides you." She said, taking a sip of her coffee. "I dunno. I guess you're just.. different. In a good way."

Rex sat down, thanking her once more, heard the large down scramble into the other chair and laughed, shaking his head in amusement. He sipped at the coffee carefully so he wouldn't burn himself.

"Nobody's really caught my eye either," He teased, that usual distant look glinting with amusement." His smile grew gentle. "Different, not including being blind?" It wasn't that he bagged on himself, it didn't seem he minded much anymore now that shock had passed a while back.

"I'm not though, a virgin I mean." He shrugged. "Not quite sure how that worked out. Being blind in high school was a pain in the ass honeslty. Most people avoid the disabled kids you know? Guess it was the attitude that got me far or something though, I was surprised to have that amount of people accept me, had expected less than half."

He chewed on his lip some. "It was a mistake though. She took advantage of it, just for sex." He shrugged some. "I was kinda confused in high school." He laughed softly. "Hormones you know? Graduated on time and everything..made the mistake of dating this one guy though. Things...again turned out bad." That one he didn't explain, but the careless smile soon returned. "Other than that, no relationship since."

Blake shook her head. "You being blind doesn't make you any less of an amazing person to me. Besides, I like you the way you are. You see much more than any of us do. You can appreciate the little things we all take advantage of." She reached over, squeezing his arm gently.

She listened to him quietly, chewing on her lip. She ran her hand up and down his arm, looking down into her cup. She took another sip, remaining quiet. She thought for a moment, then spoke up. "Well, it's their loss. I think you're like.. the coolest person ever. And you don't even have to try." She smiled to herself, resting her hand on his arm.

"I know being ugly in high school helped with my grades." She said with a laugh. She played hell passing the academy, always having some guy after her. That was when her hormones kicked in. "I remember this one guy.." She leaned back in her seat, running her fingers up and down his arm. "He was at the academy to be a field agent. You know, tazer, mase, the whole nine yards. And he would always bump into me every day. One day he asked me on a date, but I told him no. I kept wondering what might have happened, but I knew I probably wouldn't have graduated because he would have wanted to sleep with me, and he was careless. So I probably would be sitting at home with his kid." She couldn't help but wonder if Rex was as good a lover as he was a kisser, and pushed it away, blaming her hormones.

"Besides, I know this one really sweet guy I would much rather be having coffee with." She said with a smile.

Rex smiled gently, covering her hand with his other one as he listened. "You ugly? Pshht, naw." He huffed in amusement, scooting back some to rest his chin on the table and close his eyes, blowing at his hair some.

They opened again out of instinctual habit, even if nothing changed. "Yeah, Dakota," He taunted. The dog whined at the sound of his name and he laughed softly, patting Blake's hand. "Glad you wanted to get through your education first. Always a better choice."

Blake scoffed in a playful manner, leaning over to kiss his cheek. "Dakota is a terrible conversationilst." She said, squeezing his hand gently. She wrapped her arms loosely around him, laying her head on his back. She listened to him breathe for a moment, wishing she had someone to go home to. Or even a place to go home to. Hell, she wan't picky. She rubbed his side gently before sitting back up, taking another sip of her coffee.

"It's been awhile since I thought about him." She said, tapping her fingers on the table. She crossed her legs under the table, pulling her shirt back on her shoulder. It slid back off and she gave up, letting it rest there. She reached over, petting the dog gently.

"By the time you go home, I'ma have you spoiled, huh horsie?" She asked with a smile, kissing the top of Dakota's head. "I don't know how anyone couldn't spoil a dog. They're just like a baby. Only they don't require quite as much attention. They're happy just napping on the sofa." She laid her head on Rex's shoulder, closing her eyes.

"It's okay to think about people once in awhile," He breathed with half a shrug, feeling her rest her head against his shoulder.
He smiled at her comment about spoiling dogs. "Definitely hard, 'Kota always gets spoiled."

Pausing to take a drink of his coffee, he shifted his weight some. He felt comfortable like this with her though, like it was all natural.

She smiled, stretching her arms out beside his. It was a huge contrast, her arms and his. She played with one of his fingers, then slid her fingers between his, her other hand resting on his wrist. She got butterflies in her stomach at the simple action, wondering why it felt so nice to be next to him like this.

"I'd spoil you, but I don't think you'd let me, now would you?" She asked with a smile, running her fingers up and down his wrist. She didn't know how she would spoil him, considering both usually kept freakishly busy with work. She tipped her head to the other side, her hair falling in her face. She blew it out, looking over at his beautiful blue eyes.

"If I kissed you again, would you get mad?" She asked quietly, feeling something draw her towards him.

Rex turned his hand over at the feel of hers, let her interlace their fingers and trace over his wrist. "Hmhm, depends," He huffed, amused. "Spoil as in?"

Her next question drew up a smile. "No..I wouldn't have a single reason to be mad Blake," He admitted, somewhat sheepishly at doing so. How long had she felt this way? Had he been blind to it or had it just recently started?
