Blake woke up to a very cold and wet nose nudging her. She ran her hand across the dog's head, smiling faintly.

"Hey, baby." She said, sitting up slowly. Her head was throbbing. She looked around, realizing she was back in the bunks with everyone around her. She patted the bed beside her, wrapping her arms around the big dog. "Good doggie." She said, kissing the top of it's head.

"Aldridge, don't you get it?" She looked up at the profiler, and shook her head.

"What's there to get? Some perv attacked me. And where's my gun?" She looked around, snatching it back from Garrison.

"Your notes. You said all the girls are under or just over a hundred pounds. You weigh just over a hundred pounds. You were next on his list." He said, and she shook her head.

"Can we get the peanut gallery to leave?" She asked, and all the guys filed out. She put her leg gently on Rex's leg, not wanting him to leave. "Not you.."

"What do you remember?" The guy asked her, sitting on the bunk across from them.

"I got in the car.. He was in the backseat. He took my gun, I got out and kneed him in the nuts. I shoved him against the car, he shoved back. Oh, and I bit him. Hard enough to draw blood. So the guy probably has a hunk of his hand missing now." She patted the dog again.

"Ugh, Rex, I owe my life to you and your dog." She said, hugging the dog again. She watched the profiler leave, closing the door behind him. She moved over to the other side of him, laying her head on his shoulder. "Thanks, Rex.."

Rex glanced towards the sound of her groan as she stirred beside him, Dakota's tail thumping against somebody's leg. Whoever it was complained, clearly not wanting a bruise.

He scowled at the profiler's words, mumbled something under his head about it not being the medical records he thought the crimes might be centered around. Her words asking everyone to leave, the way she draped her own over his own, made him smile faintly. she was clearly fine.

He heard the door click shut, grunted as the massive dog, head usually reaching almost to his own shoulders, tried climbing into his lap. "No 'Kota," He complained, felt Blake's head against his shoulder. He ran a soothing hand through her hair, chuckled. "ah, if Dakota wouldn't have heard you I never would have known," He breathed, pulling his gun from its holster and unloading it carefully, sightless eyes relaxed now that she was okay.

"They got people out trying to look for him. Dakota kept him down, but he got away somehow." He shrugged some.

Blake smiled, feeling his hand in her hair was soothing somehow, like everything was okay. "Well, I'm glad you and Dakota have the hearing you guys do." She said, wrapping her arms gently around him. She closed her eyes, wondering what it was like to be in his shoes, how hard it must have been to get used to not being able to see.

"Thank you, Rex.." She said quietly, tipping his head towards her, looking up into his unnaturally blue eyes. She ran her hand across his cheek, wondering what would have happened to her if he hadn't been here today, if he had been sick, or just not came in. If he had fallen and something had happened.

"No matter what, you always treat me like I'm someone important, even when I'm in the worst of moods, and I snap at you. You never get mad at me.. You have a lot more patience than all of us put together." She looked up at him, running her thumb slowly across his cheek. "I find it really ironic, how the most handsome man around here can't even see.." She said with a smile, bringing his hand to her cheek so he could tell, feel her smile because he couldn't see it.

"You don't need to thank me," He murmured, feeling her hand on his cheek, turning his head. He wondered if she was looking at him or not, let his lips tilt up just the slightest bit.

"I need patience," He murmured simply, stretching his legs out in front of him. "Kinda hard to get around like this without it."
Her next words drew out an impish grin. "Nawh, I can't see and I doubt that.." he teased, voice hushed as she led his hand to her face. His thumb brushed over the corner of her mouth and he smiled, fingers resting against her neck and under her jaw as he cupped her cheek.

"You're beautiful you know..?" He whispered softly, patting her leg with his other hand, sightless eyes lowering with another faint smile.

Blake blushed at his comment, reaching up to hold his face in both of her hands. She ran her fingers over his cheeks, watching him with gentle eyes.

"Only you could see that, huh?" She said with another smile. "I think I'm perfectly fine with being your kind of beautiful. I'd rather be beautiful to you than hot to someone else. It means a lot more coming from you." She said, tipping his head back a bit. "You're a really great guy, you know that? No matter if you can't see, you'll always be my favorite person. You're the only man who's never judge me, never told me I couldn't do something." She sat up a bit, kneeling in the bed now. She kissed him softly, wrapping her arms gently around his neck. She ran a hand through his hair for a second, hugging him close.

"Working for the last few months with you has been better than the years I've worked in the academy, out front.." She smiled, turning her head to kiss the palm of his hand.

Rex chuckled. "Others could see it if they tried hard enough," He murmured insistantly. He felt her hands again, about to say something when her lips met his own. His heart jumped in his chest and he met the kiss tenderly, fogged blue eyes closing.

"I'm glad I have that impression," He whispered breathlessly. "That though, was a bit of a surprise.." The words were affectionate, gentle. "I've really enjoyed having your company too.." He drew her close. "It's nice being able to work with somebody who doesn't tell me the things I can and can't do all the time."

Blake smiled, stroking his cheek. She smiled feeling her pull him closer. She moved so she was sitting in his lap, her knees on either side of him. She pulled his face over to her, then rested her hands on his shoulders.

"Because you're not limited. You have nothing wrong with you. You just can't see, is all. That's perfectly fine, according to me. Your smile makes up for it." She ran a thumb across his bottom lip, loving when he smiled. It could light up a room, his perfect teeth making her almost envious. "There's not a single thing you can't do. I just like helping you with the little things. I know you appreciate it." She smiled again, playing with his hair a bit. She looked down at the watch on her wrist, then placed a gentle kiss on his cheek. "Looks like your shift is over." She said, moving off of his lap.

"Dakota's ready to go home?" She asked excitedly, petting the dog gently. "I can drive you home, if you want to visit your friend at the hospital. I don't have anywhere else to go, except back here." She said, pulling the dog off her bed with a groan. "Geez, Rex, this thing isn't a dog it's a dead body." She said with a laugh, petting his head. "Yeah, you're such a big doggie."

Rex chuckled, unable to hide another smile. "I do appreciate it, living alone can have it's downfalls, guess it's nice to rely on somebody once in awhile."
He patted her cheek gently.

"As for that ride, it beats walking. We can stop by the hospital if you're up for it." He kept a hand on the small of her back. "Would you take me up for coffee at the shop?"

He knew the place well enough.
He laughed as she spoke to Dakota, smirking. "You love him too much, and he's more like a horse then a dead body."

"Anything beats staying here any longer than I have to. Which is pretty much twenty-four seven. And yeah, I'd love to get coffee with you." She said with a broad smile, then bit her lip.

"Yeah, horse. A dead horse." She said with a laugh, taking the dog's leash so she could take Rex's hand. "I can't help but love him. He's just a big baby. You know that." She said with a smile. She slipped her fingers between his, guiding him out the door.

"Where are you going, Aldridge?" Garrison asked, eyeing Rex enviously.

"To hell, if I don't pray." She said sarcastically, moving past him. She led Rex to the passanger door, opening it for him before letting Dakota in the back seat. She slipped into the driver's seat, looking into the back before starting the engine. She pulled out of the parking lot, drumming her fingers on the wheel before flipping on her lights. She waited for a car to pass, then pulled out onto the main road, leaning back a bit in her seat.

"Where do you wanna go first?" She asked, glancing over at him.

Rex laughed. "Fine, you win. He's a dead horse." He stood, feeling her take his hand. He let her lead, hooking the folded cane to his belt, heard the other officer's voice and smiled sightlessly in all mock innocence at Blake's reply.

"Way to bitch him out," He teased, huffing a thanks when she opened the door. He ducked inside, actions calculated so he wouldn't make a complete fool of himself, removing his jacket so he was only in a tee, tattoo sleeved arms visible.

Dakota nudged his arm and he patted him a moment before sitting back. "Hmm, let's stop for coffee first, we'll grab a cup for Jeston." He licked at his lips.
