Monroe kept close to him, gently running his hand through his hair. He laid there long enough that he started to drift off, in entirely too much pain to stay awake. His hand fell to rest in Zain's hair, the other one curled tightly in the sheets. Something inside of him didn't want him to sleep, didn't want to be vunerable in front of Zain. But another part of him wanted to trust him.

Zain shifted his weight, tossing and turning. But he didn't wake up at all through the night, his little panic attack sending him into a crash. Afternoon began to roll by and he still didn't wake.

Monroe woke up sometime the next afternoon, close to one according to the phone he managed to grab. All he knew was he was in horrible pain, and had entirely too many missed calls from his mom. He called her back, telling her he had fallen asleep, and he would call her later. Then he grabbed his crutches, and started out of the room, hoping he could walk off he pain. 'I feel like i'm dying..' He thought.

Zain shifted his weight but didn't wake uo.
Adaleah glanced up as Monroe came out. "You guys okay..?" She breathed. "He kept crying out like, every hour last night.. You need painkillers?" She eyed his leg.

Monroe looked over at her, shaking his head. "No, thanks.." He mumbled. He had a bad track record of forming addictions to pain medicines. And tending to cause more damage than would have been if he had just not taken them. "My mom told me not to take candy from strangers.." He said quietly, hoping for a laugh, but he would settle for a 'you're stupid' and her walking off. He walked slowly up and down the hall, his head down. But it didn't help any.

Adaleah smiled faintly. "Yeah, well," She huffed, watching him. She pulled out a heating pad in case he wanted to use it.

Zain jerked awake, crying out softly before shivering. He curled back up, gripping at the blankets and staring at the wall with quick breaths.

Monroe made his way slowly back to Zain's room. He sat down next to him, running his fingers through his hair. "It's okay, baby.." He said quietly, leaning down to kiss the top of his head. He laid down beside him, sitting his crutches on the floor. He didn't feel any better, and now his head was pounding. 'Great..' He thought, slowly playing with Zain's hair.

Zain didn't stir, didn't bother look at him. He closed his eyes again, but his breathing didn't slow down as he worked his jaw, sweat sticking his shirt to his back.

Monroe sighed, turning over on his side. His patience was wearing thin, and he didn't feel like being here anymore. He didn't understand what was wrong with Zain, what was making him be so mean. But it was killing him inside, whether he wanted to admit it or not. He closed his eyes, running his hand slowly over the bed sheet.

Zain swallowed, and suddenly his unease left him. But it hadn't been drugs or booze, and tnat's what scared him most. He waited for his heartrate to slow down, trying to push off the things he actually remembered of the incident. He touched Monroe's cheek gently.
