A clatter of treys against trash cans rang through the quiet fast food place. A few people looked over, before returning back to their own family and food. Heels clicked as they stomped across the floor, a door swung open, and hurriedly, a boy rushed after the clicking heels. "Jayden, just stop!" Adele growled as she turned around at the back of his truck.
In mid-step, Jayden drew back, his mouth crinkling with discomfort. "You promised no trouble," His voice slightly raised as he looked at his sister. Her explanation of where she was the night before had upset him. Their phone call running through his mind, 'Just promise to be careful,' 'I promise!'. She had even came home without her motorcycle.
"It's not like I got hurt. I took care of myself."
"What if something would have happened? You can't do that to me! It's bad enough you leave for months, never call, and then show up with trouble at my door." Jayden's fists curled tight, his eyes were small slits as he stared at Adele.
"I didn't show up with trouble this time. And I'm staying now! I wasn't planning on leaving. Last night was just one night." Adele hushed her tone, noticing her brother's anger. She knew she was wrong, but sometimes he treated her like a kid.

Adaleah sighed as bickering from two other people rang in her ears on top of Zain and Skylar arguing. "I dropped you off at Monroe's because you were being an ass and picking fights," Skylar huffed in agitation. "Not so you could get in a fight with his father."
Zain smirked. "So?" He huffed.
But Adaleah had tuned her brother and cousin out, smiling faintly at the guy in the parking lot arguing with his sister or girlfriend or something. She bit her lip, hair still damp from swimming. The three of them had been at the lake earlier, Zain still in a bad mood.
"And then you go and beat somebody up today for bumping into you."
She reached over and grabbed her brother. "Just leave him alone Skylar... Let's get something to eat." She turned, money fluttering from her jeans pocket as well as a note reminding her to check in at the hospital later. She followed Skylar and a sulking Zain inside.

"One night, one week, one month. That's what you do every single time." Jayden shook his head, his hands making fists. Adele knew she was the only person he had, and she made it so damn difficult to keep her safe. "Why can't you be my good lil' sister?" He turned away from her, knowing he would give up if he saw the hurt in her eyes.
"Well, why can't you be a normal person? Your the reason I'm the only person you have. If you would just open up more, you wouldn't have to worry about me." Adele growled. How could he be so angry with her? She had gotten out without a scratch on her, but he was yelling like she was dead.
Jayden glanced over his shoulder, before reaching into his pocket. "Adele, that's not true. I worry about you because you're my only family. The only thing we have left of our family is us. I can go talk to people if I want. I just don't. But here, leave." He tossed the keys to his truck behind his back, spotting a blond headed girl starring at them. His head shook, and the keys hit the pavement.
Adele had watched the keys fly over his shoulder, her reflexes would have let her caught them, but she refrained. She didn't know what to say, even if she didn't she wouldn't know how to say it. Picking up the keys, she walked over to her brother, opening his hand and placing them down before curling his hand back up. "I told you I wouldn't leave this time.. Just stop making me want to..."
Jayden sighed, looking down into Adele's eyes. He slipped the keys into his pocket and watched the blond disappear inside. He thought of going back inside, but knew the scene that had ended out here started in there. Adele walked over to the truck, sitting down on the back. "So, are we gonna go somewhere or are you gonna wait for blonde?"
"Shut up," Jayden turned to look at her, a playful smile pulled at her lips and he couldn't help but to return the same look.

Adaleah ordered a thing of fries and waited for the other two before following them back outside. "I don't get why we couldn't just drive through."
"Because it's faster," Skylar huffed.
She complained as Zain snatched a fry. "You have your own." he stretched up, snatching the half hanging from his mouth, and smack him gently in the arm. Doing a doubletake when she realized what she had dropped, she turned to grab them, the other two continuing on and getting in the car.

"There's your chance, go get her." Adele laughed watching as the girl dropped something. She smiled at her brother, who was to busy watching the three walk out the doors. "Your gonna miss it," she teased, jumping from the truck and walking to Jayden.
Jayden shook his head, his eyes switching between the girl and the two guys. "I'm not going to just walk over and say, 'hey'. She might think I'm weird." He leaned as Adele stood on her tippy-toes and balanced her elbow on his shoulder. "You're too short, girly." He ducked, letting her elbow fall.
"Fine, if you don't want to.. Then I will," Jayden tried to grab Adele, but she was already off, walking over to the girl. She took a glance over her shoulder, Jayden had his hands covering his face. 'What a babyy' She waved back over to him before turning forward to see the girl by herself now. "Hi, excuse me, but uh, see that kid over there." Adele pointed back at Jayden, "I guess he thinks your cute or something because he keeps looking over here and he's a bit shy."
Jayden leaned up against his truck, his eyes trying to read his sister's lips, but she was too far away. 'Damn, what is she saying..' His mind drowned with about thirty thousand conversations, his nerves increasing as the minutes passed.

Adaleah glanced up with a sweet smile. "Hi," She laughed sheepishly, peering at him past the girl. "I was thinking the same thing," She admitted sheepishly with a smile. "Uh," She paused to brush her hair back. "We're going to the park, if you can talk him into it." She smiled again.

Adele smiled, 'Well, I hope they get along,' "I'm sure he'll go. I'm Adele, by the way." She reached out her hand, shaking her hand. Letting go of her hand, she looked to the two boys. "We'll see you there," She turned on her heel and headed back over to the truck, Jayden looked from Adele to the girl, smiling before Adele took over his whole path of vision. "Let's go to the park, big bro!" Her arms stretched in excitement, one wrapped around Jayden's shoulder, leading him to the driver's side.
"Why are we going to the park?" He sighed, pulling his keys from his pocket and unlocking his door. He felt the pressure of Adele's arm disappear, and he yanked on the handle, the door swinging open. Jayden landed in the seat with ease, a move he had gotten down with in a week of having the truck. A hand appeared, tapping on the glass. Laughing to himself, Jayden unlocked the door and soon, Adele appeared in the frame of the car door.
"Thankss," The word dripped with sarcasm as she pulled herself into the seat. "Now, go to the park. No questions, just go." Her devilish grin appeared, Jayden turned the key, the truck roaring to life. They pulled out of the the parking lot, heading to the park.

"Adaleah," She shook her hand, smiling and waving. Her cheeks felt hot as she caught his smile as well, and she ducked into the car.
"Leah's a crushinnn',," Zain sang annoyingly.
"Shuddup," She insisted, yelping as Skylar stepped on the gas. Once at the park she hopped out, watching Zain wander off to bother people. Skylar walked with her to the waters edge before sitting down on a bench. She pushed her hair back, breeze blowing it gently as she sang softly. She knew she had a good voice, being a mermaid and all, gazed out across the water, crossing her bare arms over her chest.

"Soo.. do I get any answers now?" Jayden asked as he switched gears into park, but Adele was already out of the car and walking around to his side. He sighed softly, pulling the keys out of the ignition before crawling out the door. "Fine, let's get to the prize already." Adele jerked his hand, her eyes scanning for the tree. Jayden stretched, watching kids run around the swings and jungle gym. He really hoped he was about to be told he had a niece or nephew.
Spotting Adaleah, Adele pushed Jayden in front of her. "Look who it is," She teased, watching Jayden's cheeks turn a bit pink. Adele plopped down beside the boy, "Hello." She smiled at them, looking back to Jayden who was approaching the bench like a slug.
"Hey," His shoulders rolled, trying to relax as he approached Adaleah's side. "I'm sorry if she pulled you into this. She kinda doesn't like the word, 'no'." Jayden smiled, a hand running through his hair as he looked at the girl and then out to the water.

Adaleah glanced up, smiling as she rubbed at her arm. "Hey." She looked up at him sweetly. "No, she didn't drag me into anything." A bell like laugh as she walked a bit further from the others, still looking out at the water. "It's beautiful, isn't it?"
Skylar glanced up, smiled just faintly. "Hey.." He played with the back of his upper lip ring, leaning forward absently, and looked around for Zain before giving up.
