He glared down at his sister, before following after Adaleah as she walked a bit a ways. "Yeah," He smiled looking at her before glancing out to the water, "it is." Jayden chewed at his lip, glancing over at Adele, but she was to busy in her world to notice. "Well, whatever she said, I'm glad it worked." He mumbled, mostly to himself, but loud enough to be heard. His eyes watched the little ripples of the water. It was hard not to look over at the girl, but he did his best to not make it obvious.
Adele watched the boy, before leaning back and crossing her legs. She gave one short look toward Jayden before searching out in the water for anything to move. "You seem happy," It wasn't meant to be rude or to start trouble. A quick smile washed over her face, letting her gaze return to the water.

Adaleah laughed faintly. "Yeah, well.." She grabbed his hands, dancing backwards towards a small little dock before letting go. "I'm Adaleah, Leah for short. We moved here just in the past few weeks." She leaned over the railing, watching the fish beneath the water, scarily close to falling in. mermaids were prone to pulling victims in to drown them or give them a scare. Right now that wasn't her intention though.
A dry laugh passed Skylar's lips as he glanced at her briefly. "Do I?" He scoffed.

Jayden bit the inside of his cheek as she grabbed his hands, trying to push the pink color away. He didn't want her to know he was blushing, he already sounded like a dork. "Jayden, and I've lived here.. all my life." He smiled, watching her lean over the railing. Watching as she leaned over the rail, he stepped beside her, she was almost all the way over the rail and he didn't want her to fall. "It's a.. pretty weird town sometimes, guess that's why I stayed." He was thinking aloud, not really sure if she was paying attention or not. "Why'd you come here?" Jayden asked, he never really understood why people would move here.
"Oh yes, like a pocket full of sunshine," Adele laughed, she crossed her arms, letting them hang comfortably.

Adaleah didn't raise her head for a moment. "Too many memories back home." She pulled herself upright, running a hand through her hair and smiling shyly up at him. "And...this place was more fitting." She shrugged. "Those two are the only family I have left, anyway."
Skylar smiled at her in amusement. "Yeah, sure," He huffed, in an alright mood now that at least Leah was happy. "Guess you get brownie points for making me smile."

Jayden smiled, wondering what she meant by fitting in. He knew of other creatures, but the possibilities seemed almost endless. "It's kind of a neat place, I guess." He shrugged, his hands sifting through his pockets as he looked at her. Her eyes were intense, he felt like he couldn't look away. "I'm kind of bad at this," His hand ran through his hair, resting behind his head for a bit, "Adele's about the only company I have sometimes. And she does most of the talking," Jayden gave a half smile, and looked down throw the cracks in the dock.
Adele laughed, looking over at him. "Can I just have brownies instead?"

Adaleah laughed softly. "That's okay," She murmured, brushing a hand over his shoulder as she passed him, sitting down near the edge of the dock. She tucked her feet under herself, careful not to touch the water. She wondered if he was human or not, smiled up at him and patted the spot beside her.
Skylar smirked. "Depends on the kind, Zain made a batch last night," He taunted, leaning back again.

Waiting a bit, he watched her curl up near the edge of the dock before following after her. Jayden watched the water move slowly, his breathing became more calm. His eyes skipped over to her rippling reflection, smiling. "How do you like living here so far?" He turned, leaning up against a pole to see her better. One leg hung off the dock and the other bent, letting one of his arms rest on top. He was still a bit nervous, but felt them drifting away as the minutes passed.
"Well, unless you had those with you.. they don't really do me any good," Adele laughed, her eyes watching the people as the chit chatted and paid little attention to their kids.

Adaleah smiled over at him, humming softly until he spoke again. She glanced back at him again. "I like it, trying to get a job at the mental part of the hospital with the kids and teens and stuff." She couldn't help her love of kids, figured she would never be an aunt since Skylar didn't like anybody. "I could always help with swim lessons too." She smiled.
Skylar chuckled. "In the car, actually. Zain just can't have any right now."

"That's cool," Jayden smiled, watching the little movements she made. They seemed graceful, and flawless. "I work at the high school as the welding teacher." He shrugged. It wasn't much pay and it seemed like he was always breaking up a fight rather than teaching. He looked down at his hands, they were rough from wear and tare, he barely noticed anymore. Rubbing his hands together, he looked back up at Leah, a smile on his face. "You have really pretty eyes."
Adele looked around for the other boy, and then back to the cars. "Well, he's not here, so let's go get em'" She laughed, standing to her feet, tired of sitting down.

Adaleah smiled. "That's cool." A sheepish laugh passed her lips and she looked down almost bashfully. "Thanks... I.. Like your smile." She looked back up, cheeks faintly tinged, then out across the water again. She had been exploring the lake this morning, found that the mermaids who could not leave the lake had actually built their own city like structure beneath here. She wondered how far it went, glanced back at Jayden again.
Skylar smirked. Pit brownies with a girl he didn't know who's brother was hitting on his sister? Hell why not? It wasn't like he could get high easily, not with being a pirate. He got up, following after her slowly.
