The sun beamed down from it's tower in the sky. Wind blew gently, causing leaves to ruffle free from the trees in the park. If the birds were singing it would be a Disney movie. But instead of birds, kids were screaming. Chasing each other round and round as women sat around a picnic waiting for the men to finish grilling. Down past the picnic table and screaming kids stood a large oak tree. Beneath the tree sat Tk in her red tank top and jean shorts.

She leaned back against the base of the tree, checking her phone every now and then. It was only two and still, it felt as if the day had lasted a month. Her fingers wrapped around her old, dirty book bag, pulling it closer. She shifted through the variety of things in her bag, pulling out a set of headphones. Taaron hooked them up to her phone, placing one ear bud into her ear as the music began to play. It seemed as though everyone was canceling plans with her today.

Terance was running at the park, and just finishing his last lap when he spitted Tk. He had his shirt on, and was thankful for that much, though he knew he should take it off so he didn't overheat, the front drenched in sweat. He leaned up against the tree to catch his breath, sliding down beside her and tapping her shoulder, tuggig an earbud from her ear. "Hey-" He managed before falling into a nasty fit of coughing. He drew in a wheezing breath, smiling impishly her way. He had thought about her plenty recently, but had been far more caught up in his brither coming home and getting wiped of his memory of ever leaving.

An old country song played through her ear drums, weaving its way deeper into her brain. Her fingers drummed against her thighs and she was about to start humming the melody. But an ear bud fell out, and she heard the sound of a familiar voice. Taaron tilted her head to the side, pulling her knees up. She rested her elbow on her knee and then her head on her hand as she waited for Tj to finish his coughing fit. "Impressive. I thought jocks were suppose to have good lungs?"

Taaron smiled as her eyes traced over his face, catching his eyes before looking down at the ground. It was a surprise to be running into him, or rather, him running into her. Kind of like two different worlds crashing together, even if he used to do drugs. "I hope you don't sweat that much just by running to a tree," She laughed, folding her arms across her knees.

"Yeah well-" But he paused. How did yo explain something you were ashamed of? "Yeah." He shrugged. He smiled at her faintly. "No..more like three miles..." He managed to slow his breathing down, wiped sweat from his forehead and tilted his head back against the tree, far too hot. "Ugh."

Taaron shook her head, the other ear bud falling to the grass. She paused the music on her phone and threw it in her bag. "Come on," She stood, slinging the bag over her shoulder. Reaching her hand out she grabbed Tj's, trying to pull him up, but had no luck. "Maybe I should start going to the gym," She backed up as he stood, giving him a smile.

A dirt trail went down past a couple trees, leading out to a small opening of a river. The sun reflected off the water's surface, making it shine brightly. Hopefully the water was cold, Tj seemed like he was about to faint. "You can swim, right?" Tk laughed, setting her bag down on a few rocks before kicking off her shoes.

Terance laughed. "Maybe you should," He teased, hauling himself up with a grunt. He trailed after her, pulling his shirt some so it wouldn't cling to his chest. He smirked. "Of course I can." But hesitation crossed his face when he realized he would need to take his shirt off. Discomfort. He shifted his weight, water looking amazing, and managed a faint smile her way.

"I brought you down here so you wouldn't faint, not to just smile at me." She stuck her tongue out at him, and walked over toward him. Taaron wondered why he would keep on a soaking wet t-shirt. "Your shirt's already wet. So if you jump in with it on, it won't make a difference. Besides, I'm not taking any clothes off." She giggled, and walked to the edge of the bank.

Breathing deeply, she tied back her hair with a rubber band. It had been awhile since she had gone swimming, and she wasn't quite sure on how deep the water was anymore. 'Not like I haven't been to the hospital before.' Taaron shrugged, before diving in. Even with the sun up high, the deeper the water the colder it was. It wasn't deep, but her dive didn't stray that far under the water til she started swimming down. Her head popped up in the middle of the river when she resurfaced, her eyes scanned the area around her to see where Tj was.

Terance chuckled. He wasn't one to swim in jeans, couldn't even sleep in anything but boxers. So when she dove.in, he tugged off his jeans and shirt and dove after her. Once in the water it wouldn't be as easy to see the scars. The Burman licking over his chest, coating his stomach and sides and disappearing into his boxers, reappearing over his thighs as if they never even stopped. Skin grafts had helped with the major marring, but couldn't take away all of it. And being burned alive was exactly what had ruined his lungs. Even a blood born vampire, it had left damage. He surfaced, grinning crookedly over at her.

When she saw him, she swam under the water again. Only to reappear behind him a few short minutes later. "I've never known a shy jock. I was right when we first met," Tk laughed and began floating on her back. The sun was intense, making her squint her eyes shut. "Well, right about one thing at least." Her arms moved her around in circles, but soon they grew tired and she curled into a ball.

It caused her to sink a couple feet, but her mom always told her she had gills. The memory of her first swimming experience came to mind, and she couldn't help but laugh. Water filled her lungs, making her choke. When Taaron resurfaced, she was still in a coughing fit. "Never laugh under water." She choked

Terance laughed. "And what would that be? I'm not shy, I just....had some things happen that shut me up." He shrugged, smirking when she surfaced coughing. Treading water, he watched her curiously, but never did anything to reveal skin past his shoulders. He splashed water her way, smirking. "Well duh," He teased.
