"Well, aside from keeping a constant eye on a really hot alcoholic werewolf -which is bad, by the way. Don't get addicted to that- I work the front desk at the uhm.. hotel. So I sit there and bother people with my bright orange hair." She said with a slight smile. She reached up, tucking her hair behind her ear.
She listened intently, completely ingrossed in his story. But then again, she was interested in the strangest things. "Wow.. You know Harper? She makes those.. dough ring things over at the coffee shop? She's got pretty eyes like you. Only she hates it. She doesn't like looking at people." She said. "But I guess I don't blame her if that's what you have to do.."

"Alcohol has never been that prized in my eyes. I usually stay sober to keep a hold of Damian. He's got.. anger issues.. if you could call them that." He watched as she tucked her hair behind her ear. "Your hair is pretty hard to miss," Khole smiled, but it wasn't a bad thing. She didn't have the normal run-of-the-mill hair that most girls had. It would make her easy to spot in a crowd.
Taking a sip of his drink, Khole listened as she talked about her friend. "I've seen her, but I've only ordered coffee." Chewing on his lip, he thought of how his eyes would lighten in color when he looked a girl in the eyes. It didn't have to be a girl, it would work with just about anyone if he wanted them to be attracted to him. "I like my eyes. I think they set me apart from others. Just don't go around thinking we're a bad species. I have been sitting here without trying to get you home, after all." Khole gave a toothy grin, taking a sip from the shake as he finished playing with it. "I guess some are more accepting of what they are than others."

"Yeah, well, my orange hair sure beats the leash my boyfriend would have kept me on otherwise. I'm hard to keep up with." She said jokingly, smiling over at him. She knew Tyler wouldn't put her on a leash. Her hair was just a fun experiment gone wrong. No matter what she did, it stayed orange just like it was when she died. And it never got any longer.
"I'll give you that." She teased, folding her hands in her lap. It made her feel better knowing he didn't have intentions of bringing her home for unspeakable things. "She said that when she figured out that was the only reason people talked to her, she decided she hated it. So she dresses like a boy now. I dunno. I guess she's kinda cute, if you're into girls." She said, swaying back and forth in her seat.

"I'm guessing he would be the werewolf you watch?" It wasn't hard to put two and two together. Most he watched over troubled people were someone who cared greatly for them. "That'd be kinda ironic," He laughed, but he didn't mean it an offensive way. Khole was just someone who joked a lot. He figured if you couldn't joke about serious things at times, you'd barely laugh at all. And he loved to laugh, it let him know he was happy.
"That'd be zero to two." His hands moving to the air, displaying a zero on the left hand and two fingers pointing up on the right. "Makes sense. I just always assumed it was part of who I was. It makes me more open to people, and that's always been a good thing for me." Khole was thinking back to the orphanage. It had saved him from plenty of trouble throughout his life. He would just get to talking and most of the people scolding him would forget.

She shrugged, tipping her head back as she gently ran her fingers across her eyelashes, trying not to mess up her mascara. She reached for a napkin, wiping off the black smears on her fingers. "I guess you can't really help who you are, you know? I mean, I got people telling me I'm some.. missing Russian duchess. If I am, I can't help it. And if I'm not, I'm still that nameless orphan from.. whenever. I don't count days." She smiled, folding her hands in her lap again. She shifted her weight, pulling her knees up to her chest.
"Can you guys die? Like.. You aren't immortal or something like me or a vampire or something, huh?" She asked, reaching up to fix her ponytail.

Khole nodded, his hand pushing the empty shake to the side. "So you do have a mystery?" His eyebrow perked in question. That was pretty interesting, for a girl who loved facts. "But then again, if you like who you are.. what does it matter where you came from?" It was almost a question to himself. He had felt the pressure after leaving the orphanage. No one wanting to adopt you made it almost hard to find a job. School wasn't the first thing on the care-taker's mind at the orphanage.
"Yeah, we can. Why? Don't like me now?" He teased, leaning forward on his elbows. "We don't go out in the sun either. Good thing it was cloudy today."

She shook her head. "No, because I'm Charlie. I mean.. if I were so special, my family would have wanted me. And if I was a duchess.. Who loses a duchess? That's about as far fetched as little green men." She said with a shrug. She honestly didn't believe that she was who everyone said she was, despite the pictures. If she was so special, why would her family have given her up?
She chuckled at his question, shaking her head. "No! I like you just fine, silly. I was just wondering. I don't know much about the people around here. It's really interesting to hear about you guys." She said with a smile.

"Little green men is about as far fetched as a town with creatures, but here we are." He added, moving his feet out more. "And your tiny. Tiny things can be easy to lose, but I doubt that's something you'd wanna know." He paused, trying to think if he had made any sense. "I mean if they lost you 'cause you were tiny. It'd be pretty cool to be a duchess, a guy one." Khole added at the end, not sure of what to them.
He chuckled, his fingers tapping lightly against the table. "Good, I like you too. And it's not everyday you get to talk to an angel who may or may not be a dutchess," Khole teased

Charlie couldn't help but burst out in laughter at his comment. "Do you mean a /duke/?" She asked, smiling over at him. "You can't be a guy duchess. You'd be a duke." She couldn't help still smiling, shaking her head a bit. But she had come to realize that a lot of things she knew, others didn't. And a lot of things people had nowadays she had no idea how to work. "I guess we're even because you guys have cheese in a can.."
She shook her head. "No, an angel who KNOWS she isn't a duchess. I mean, really. Even if I am tiny. Hello. Orange hair." She said, pointing to her head.

Khole sighed at the laughter, but he couldn't help but to smile. He had known it wasn't right, but how was he suppose to know? It was usually prince or princesses. Those were easy to understand. "I think if your friend, Harper, can dress as a guy, I can be a duchess." He laughed, shrugging it off. "But I don't think I would want to be."
"Maybe you were bald?" He questioned, looking her orange hair over. "Or wore a hat. You just don't wanna have a mystery." Khole stuck his tongue out playfully, chuckling softly.
