Marc had heard Shaun cry for what seemed like forever in pain, before she finally gave birth to her puppies. But out of the five, only two were alive. And they were polar opposites. One was a light grey, almost white like her, and the other was dark like Jacob. Despite her biting him serveral times, he'd gotten her to at least feed them, and then she refused to have anything to do with them. He could tell it killed her to have to give away her babies, but it also killed her to think that she would be second to them one day. And that would have been a lot harder than just giving them to Jacob now.
She had asked, though, that if any of them died, they be buried with their mother. Shaun would probably never understand how much she looked like their mom, but Marc couldn't tell her no. So he scooped all the tiny puppies into a box, then draped a blanket over her. She didn't pay him any mind as he left, making his way to the cemetery. He dug a hole that wasn't very big at all, but thankfully it had rained and he could dig with his hands. He put the three little puppies there, next to what would have been their grandmother. "Please just watch over Shaun, moma.." He said quietly, kissing her headstone before washed his hands off with his water bottle in his pocket. He put it back, then picked up the two little puppies, holding them close.
"You're both so cute, yeah. You're gonna have a whole lot of uncles where you're going." He said, reaching over to run a finger over one's head, walking slowly over to the Gryffon house. "Just don't forget to remember me, okay? I love you too. And so does your moma." He said, then knocked on the familiar door. He'd come and gotten Shawn plenty of times. He smiled as their mom opened the door, a smile that seemed to make no one's heart skip anymore but Tony's. "I'm a stork today. I brought you your little mischief makers. Since you're totally like.. a grandma now." He looked down at them, petting on gently before the other. "Mind if I stay for a bit? I think it's gonna rain again soon.."

Jacob raised his head as the door was opened, listening to his mother talk to Marc. He could smell the puppies, had known they were coming and shifted. He refused to shift back. He was upset that Shaun was trying to just give them up, had argued with her, Shawn and Gryphon for a long time, trying to insist she would always be their mother no matter what, and that he would tell them that even if she didn't want him to. That she couldn't escape it considering she was dating Shawn. He had been a complete mess, utterly pissed at himself for hurting her, had spent a good week handcuffed in his own room because he punished himself by not touching his medication. Or eating. By doing nothing but drink and smoke. He had finally got it together though. Hopefully. It was clear he was still mad about what he had done. It upset him.
"Sure, come on in," He heard his mother say cheerily. She always pulled off happy, no matter how broken she was. He pushed himself to his paws, shaking out shaggy fur and licking Shawn's face.
"Ew Jake! You're so gross!" He complained.

Marc stepped past her, looking over at the other two. It seemed like wolves just changed back to wolves to avoid their problems. Or at least, that's what Marc was deducing from this. "At least he's licking you and isn't biting you." He told Shawn. His arms were covered in bite marks where Shaun had sank her sharp teeth into him. And oh, they had bled.
"Please don't bite me." He told Jacob, so tired of being bitten. He sat down on the floor in front of Jacob, holding the little puppies out to him. "I don't know if they're boys or girls or what but they're really really cute. You just wanna squish them or something. The other three are with my mom. They weren't very big at all, so I didn't wanna bring those and hurt you." He said, sitting the puppies down at his paws. "Can you please switch back? I'm so tired of having to talk to silent wolves.. And being bitten. But mostly talking to silent wolves.."

Jacob eyed him, wondering why he would bite him. He whimpered, ears pulling back some at the news of the other three. But he knew Shaun was trying to act like she didn't care.. He nosed each one in turn gently, Then disappeared up the stairs slowly.
He gasped as he shifted, pulling on boxers and shorts, wandered back down and sat down on the floor, carefully drawing the precious pups close. Any human would have found it odd. But these were his kids. He swallowed, a tear rolling down his cheek as he held them in his lap. "I'm so sorry.." He whispered. "You're never gonna have a normal family.. I'm sorry..." He bit his lip to hide the tremble of his jaw as he petted them, looking each one of quietly. "Aw...you look like your moma.." He picked it up gently, smiled past his tears. "She should be happy..she's gonna have such a handsome son.."

"There's no such thing as a really normal family." Marc said, reaching up to rub his nose. He thought what bothered him most was that his sister went through all the trouble to carry the puppies, and have them and then she didn't want them. He could kind of get where she was coming from, but it was still her babies.
"Shaun looks like moma before she died. I think she's gonna be really pretty when she gets past that awkward lanky phase of hers. She needs a cheeseburger or something." He said, leaning back on his aching arms. But he'd always been big, so maybe she was just small to him. He looked at the puppies, how small and cute they were. He was almost glad Jacob didn't have the image in his head of the other three, not even half their size. He reached up, rubbing his eye. "Or dog food until she finally can shift back. But she did feed them last night and this morning before I brought them here."

Jacob glanced up at him quietly, rubbing at his eyes in agitation. He glanced at Shawn, who was looking at the pups curiously, could hear Tyler outside. Cole was gone with Baz on vacation. He patted the puppies gently, hugging them close. "Okay.." He mumbled. "I...guess I'll have to get them some formula.." He was worried about them not having their mother until he shifted, wanted to talk with her but at the same time wanted to leave her alone. He gazed back down at them brokenly, watched his mom move to make breakfast. Even though Marc was a vampire, Jacob had learned to accept him. "There's a rabbit in the fridge," He mumbled. "I went hunting last night. If you're hungry." He shrugged, more fixed on the little pups.

"Shawn might be able to con her into feeding them again. Maybe. I don't think she'd bite him." He offered. He knew how much she cared for the boy, how she'd worried the entire time she was pregnant about Shawn. He shook his head at the offer. "No.. I'm good. Thanks though. Tony isn't exactly cool with the whole I-need-blood-to-survive thing. And he's probably gonna come over later and help with Shaun cause she's like.. in pain and can't exactly walk around." He shrugged, looking up at Shawn. "You can come sit with me and look at them. I dunno if they're like other animals though, so I didn't try to touch them too much." He opened his arms. "But they shut up when you talk to them."

Jacob nodded slowly. "Maybe.." He mumbled. He scooted over as Shawn slipped off the counter and into his wheelchair, then pulled himself onto the couch.
"You can go with him tonight if you want, Shawn," Their mother called. Jacob nodded. "If you want to take him," Jacob huffed, glancing at Marc. He watched the little pups stumble around by one of his feet, shifted his weight.

"If I take him, I gotta take both of you. Because she doesn't wanna have anything to do with them. And someone's gonna have to take care of them when she's ignoring them." He played with his lip ring for a minute before he gently helped Shawn into his lap so he could look at the puppies.
"They're so freaking cute. You'd almost wanna keep one if you didn't know they were like.. literally people. Too bad dogs aren't that cute or I'd get a dog." He said, leaning over to look at the little one that looked like Shaun. "Shaun used to sleep upside down in holes." He said with a chuckle, leaning back on his hands. "I think she was the only one born a puppy. My mom had the triplets then the twins as humans. And then Shaun was the puppy." He still found it odd saying 'the twins' when he was supposed to be the other twin. But he stuck out like a sore thumb.

Jacob shrugged. "Whatever works for you," He breathed, watching them. He laughed. "Yeah, you'd be in for a shocker there when you woke up to a crying baby suddenly once they hit that age." They had to get bigger first though, start running around and tearing things apart and eating on their own.
