Oliver didn't usually go to dances, but this seemed like the perfect opportunity to spend some time with Dusty without having to worry about being interrupted like they would anywhere else. Like they'd already been. He could only hope that John wouldn't be at this particular event. He was dressed in a suit, not as dressy as the tuxedo he'd worn on their first 'date' (if one could call it that), but most definitely dressier than casual.
He stood off to the side in the gym, giving new meaning to the term 'wallflower'. He noticed a few familiar faces and waved, though none of them were familiar enough to go and hang out with...save for a few, but almost everyone was paired off in dates. It was Valentine's Day, after all. Oliver was still waiting for his to show. He could only hope this night would go well...

Dusty had been permitted to attend the dance on one condition- if she stayed away from Oliver. But she had no intentions of doing so. She walked into the gym, her hands folded in the front of her small white dress. She looked around, and spotted the boy, leaning against a wall. She smiled, walking over to him. She threw her arms around his neck, hugging him tightly.
"I missed you.." She whispered, closing her eyes as she held him close to her.

Oliver had no idea as to the conditions of the dance, and that was probably for the best. He liked Dusty, and he wanted to be around her, but he certainly didn't want her to get in trouble. Oliver was a bit surprised when Dusty came up to him and threw her arms around his neck straight away, but he smiled nonetheless and put his arms around her. Then he kissed the top of her head. "I missed you too. What happened that night when you got home?"

She smiled, quickly folding her hands behind her back again. She didn't think Oliver liked being touched much, so she tried not to touch him. "Uh.. My dad just told me I'm only allowed to leave to go to school and the library and they put a lock on my door because they think I'm going to sneak out. But I guess everything's been alright. My mum took me shopping and I got this new dress." She smiled, pulling out the skirts a bit. She looked back up at him, still smiling. "How's school been? I haven't seen you around." She asked, rotating her hips back and forth. ((click 'new dress' to see her dress))

Oliver had no problems with being touched, though he did like having a bit of advanced warning before anyone did so.
"I assume you have someone watching you to make sure you do as they say..." Suddenly the implications of this stood out to Oliver. "Is someone watching us right now?" That was worrisome, especially given the way Dusty's parents reacted to this. Noting her comment about the new dress, Oliver couldn't help but smile. "Well, you look wonderful in it."
Oliver shrugged a little at her question about school. "It's been decent. Been keeping busy with classes. How about you? Hope you're still able to enjoy a few things."

"No, no one is watching us." She said with a smile, leaning against the wall next to him. She ran her hands over the front of her dress, making sure it looked nice. She was a princess, after all. And you never knew when someone would want a picture, or just take one without asking. And most of the time, they were published in the paper or a magazine. Or put online on someone's blog.
She smiled at his compliment, lowering her gaze to the floor. "School's been alright. I guess. I started on my rocket. Since I'm really not allowed to leave my room, I started painting the shell of it. It's looking nice. I made it look like a bunch of puzzle pieces." She smiled over at him. She guessed she didn't have much of a choice. It was something for her to do, since she had really no other options.

Oliver was surprised. "You managed to give your bodyguard the slip?" Or had they not sent her with a bodyguard? If so, that was even better.
Oliver, too, was concerned with the way that he looked, though not to the extent that Dusty was. Given the nature of the event, though, he wanted to make sure that his clothing looked nice. This was a Valentine's Day themed event after all.
The corners of his mouth turned up to form a small grin when the subject turned to rockets. "I already finished mine. Well...it's ready to test, anyway. I'll probably mess around with it a bit more before it's due, though." He doubtlessly would. This was one of the projects he'd 'finished' right away, though as with most of his projects, if an idea struck him, he was going to consider it and possibly try it out. It was just too bad he couldn't work on the thing with Dusty...

She shook her head, folding her hands together at the front of her dress. "No, they've sent me without one." She said with a smile, looking around slowly at the people. Dances didn't interest her much; she went to enough of them as it was.
"I've built a few other ones, but they were a lot bigger. Just ones for fun. So this one's a bit more complicated, being smaller and all." She said, someone catching her eye. She was amazed at how informal everything was. It made her feel out of place.

The smile that came across Oliver's face when she indicated that she hadn't been sent with a bodyguard was noticeable. It meant that they could spend time together without having to worry about her parents finding out. It was an opportunity they had not had much of as of late. "Well, that's a pleasant surprise." While he had no intent to dance in front of the crowd of people, he did have to admit he was slightly tempted to start dancing when he learned that they were free to do what they wanted for this bit of time.
"Have you tested that one out yet?" The grin returned in full force. "Do you happen to have it with you? Even if you don't, would you like to come with me to test mine?" He wanted to make a date of it, of course, but he wondered the next time they'd have an opportunity to do this. Thus...he was up for doing the test right now if she'd like to. Might as well take advantage of this time while they had it!
