Blake had just gotten back from the doctor's with her parents, the doctor figuring she was about seven weeks along. She poked at her frozen yogurt, not very interested in it anymore. But she didn't weigh as much as she should, the doctor worried she would miscarry if she didn't start gaining weight. She took a bite of it, looking out the window. She pushed her hair out of her face, looking out at the street.

She looked back down, stirring her spoon around in the melting treat. Her pager went off, and she pulled it off her side, then sat it aside.

Rex pushed the door open to the frozen yogurt shop, huffed when Dakota growled happily and tugged him forward. "Dakota!" He huffed in quiet complaint. Somebody glared at the big dog but of course he didn't see it. Dakota rarely wore a vest, and by law nobody could ask him to make him. He heard Dakota whine happily, nudged his hand towards the other. Rex laughed, managing to find a seat and sit down without killing himself. "How'd the doctor's go?"

Blake smiled at the sound of Rex's voice. She leaned down, petting the top of Dakota's head. "Oh my goodness. I know, I've been gone so long. A whole week without my favorite people." She said, kissing the top of his head. She looked over at Rex, poking at her frozen yogurt. She took a bite of it, then stirred the rest around in her cup.

"It was alright. They said I'm about seven weeks or something. I didn't want to see the ultra sound, but mom and dad said it looked like a peanut or something. The doctor said I'm not gaining enough weigh, I might miscarry if I don't start gaining." She took another bite of her frozen yogurt, trying to remember if there was anything else. She moved over to the seat beside him, careful not to trip over Dakota. She pulled Rex's hand to her stomach, leaning back in her chair so he could feel the small bump that was starting to grow. "It's really not big. But your baby's in there."

Rex smiled as she talked with Dakota. "Wellthen you'd better start eating, Miss Piggy," He teased gently, letting her take his hand. He traced his over her stomach gently. The first shock of it had faded. Honestly having a kid was something he only ever could have dreamed of, so afraid of not being able to see it. But anything with Blake would be perfect, even without sight. He felt bad, her first time having sex got her pregnant..
"Just think.." He murmured. "Our little daughter or son is growing in there." His other hand cautiously found her cheek, calculated so he wouldn't make a fool of himself when he leaned close and kissed her softly on the lips.

"And it better stay in there until it's a whole lot bigger." She said with a smile. She rested her hand on his leg, leaning up a bit to kiss him back. She was honestly terrified of losing the baby, thinking that the baby she had inside of her had died. She didn't care if she had no idea how she was going to take care of it without a house, but she was going to try.

"I think between the two of us, we can manage a baby. Dakota's not dead yet." She teased, squeezing his leg gently. "Only this one's gonna talk and call you daddy and deprive you of sleep."

Rex smiled against her lips, holding the kiss out a bit longer before he pulled away. He scoffed playfully at her words. "Of course he's not dead," He teased, laughed faintly before stretching. "Mm, I think I can handle that." Hell, he'd spent plenty night with laughter in his head, kids that felt like siblings running through his dreams. It had always bothered him, he knew he was a single child. But it had never been enough to worry him into seeing somebody about it.

Blake smiled, reaching over to stroke his cheek gently. They were an odd couple, one couldn't see and the other was pregnant with no house and no way to take care of the baby. She leaned back in her seat, reaching down to pet Dakota. She couldn't help feeling like she had made a mistake sleeping with Rex. He was her co-worker, and that was pretty much where it all ended.

"My superior said he's going to work me so I can have maternity leave.. I'm gonna have to stay and work like, eighteen hours a day." She nodded slowly, gently petting Dakota.

Rex smiled the faintest bit. "Yeah? Just make sure you don't push yourself too hard.." He insisted. He honestly wanted to support her, this child... Even if he couldn't ever see them.
He patted her leg gently, yawned. "You want to go to the festival this weekend?"

"I'll try not to." She said, gently petting Dakota. She leaned back again in her chair, looking down at the tiny bump in her shirt. "If you wanna. But I've always been scared of the rides. We might have to go anyways if they get wind that there's gonna be kids and alcohol involved." She said, reaching over to stroke his cheek.

"True," Rex murmured, smiled at the touch on his cheek. He tilted his head against it some, sightless blue eyes closing. He turned his face, kissing her palm gently, and smiled. "You're amazing, you know that, right?"
