Asher got out of his car, closing the door with his hip on account of his hands being full. He looked up at the building, chewing on his lip ring for a moment. He didn't really want to be a nurse, he wanted to keep making music and be at home with his family. But his family was gone and his band broke up. And no one wanted a twenty-two year old lead singer for a band. So he settled with what he was good with, and that was people.
He walked up to the front door, pulling it open for an expecting mom despite his hands being ready to overflow with papers. He made his way to the elevator, looking at the names before he found the doctor he was supposed to be working under. 'Start with pediatrics.' They had old him. Even if the guy was a general physician. He got in the elevator, then looked for the office when he was out. He stopped at the front desk, looking over at the woman behind the desk. "I need to speak with the nurse in charge.." He said quietly, sitting his papers on the counter.

It was a day for sick children. Pollen flying up into the air, making for some really bad allergies. Aidan was even sneezing herself as she walked from room to room, making sure everything was okay. Once one room emptied, another would have a child waiting. There was no down time. And on top, an intern was coming in today. Her mind was spinning round and round. Working her way down the hall, slowly. Everything seemed to be running smoothly. A few nurses had quit, but that was why they had the internship.
"Hello, I'm Aidan," She breathed, her hand reaching over the front desk. A sweet smile appeared on her lips, letting the woman behind the desk to go back to some patient paperwork. "Follow me," It was a gentle command, her voice sounding like a melody as Aidan walked down the hall, back to a quiet office.

Asher shook her hand gently before quickly drawing it back. "Asher." He said quietly, picking up his papers at her command. He followed her to a back office, felt more out of place than the rest of them. All the women had on their girly scrubs, the doctors had on their nice clothes and lab coats. And here was Asher, in his skinny jeans and a baby blue scrub top, his school ID clipped to the bottom of it. He saw some of the nurses had pictures of their children at their desks, and knew he had pictures of Tripp in his wallet.
He sat his papers down on the desk, handing her the ones they had told him to give to her before standing straight, twisting the black wedding band around his finger. "They told me my job was to just follow you guys around and take your notes for you.. And that they would have my ID by the end of the week, or the day if they're not busy." He chewed on his lip ring, waiting for her to tell him to take it out and put on a jacket to cover his tattoos.

Aidan took the papers from him, laying them down on the desk. Her eyes looking over his body. Lip ring, tattoos. Only to look up after he finished talking. "Notes, yes and sometimes the easier things, like temperatures and what not." Her steps leading her over to the door, noticing more kids on their way back. "The lip ring needs to be removed. Tattoos are fine as long as there is no nudity, profanity, and those sorts of things." She spoke in commands, but her voice was gentle. Never raising to a harsh octave.
"When you walk into the room, grab the folder on the outside wall. That's where the notes are taken," Aidan paused, her hands reaching into her pocket, "and always have a pen." Her hand reached out, a blue pen in her hand. She waited for him to take it, spotting someone was now in her the room she was designated. "Let's get started," Aidan proceeded to walk down the hall, making sure he was following.

Asher nodded, reaching up to take out his lip ring. He ran his tongue over the hole, tucking the lip ring into his pocket. He felt naked without it. He shook his head when she offered him the pen. "I don't like blue ink.." He said quietly, pulling a black ink pen from his pocket. He tucked it behind his ear, following her out of the office. He looked around at a few people, but otherwise kept his eyes ahead. He didn't think he was going to be here long. No one liked a guy with tattoos and piercings.
He followed her into the room, grabbing the chart off the wall as if it were second nature. He flipped it open to the new sheet they had added, looking over at the little kid, then his parents who obviously disapproved of him. "Hi buddy." He told him with a smile, pulling his pen out from behind his ear.

Aidan looked over at the parents, one eye brow raising before looking to the kid. "How are you feelin', little guy?" She asked, walking over to him. The back of her hand wiping over his forehead. He didn't feel too hot, but kids always put it to the extreme.
"My nose and tummy hurts," The boy complained, his hand rubbing over his stomach. The mom stood, walking over to him, patting his head. "He's felt like this for a couple of days."
Aidan nodded, walking over to the sink and washing her hands. Every once and awhile, glancing to Asher. "I'm going to take your temperature and blood pressure," Her voice was soothing as she turned. The thermometer in her gloved hands. The boy nodded, his mom now sitting down. Her eyes looking at Asher more than Aidans. Aidan walked back, sticking the thermometer into a side box, a plastic sheet covering it. "This has to go under your tongue," She placed it in his mouth, his eyes looking crossed as he looked down at it. It read a 97.9. Not really a temperature. "Next, is your blood pressure. Can you push your sleeve on to your shoulder?"

Asher watched her go over to wash her hands before he leaned against the other end of the counter where he could see what she was doing. He flipped his hair out of his face, looking at the thermometer as it went off. He wrote it down on the chart in his small, neat handwriting before writing down the kid's ailments. He had learned it was always best to go back and do it later that way he was paying full attention when everything else was going on.
He looked over at the mom again, tempted to raise his eyebrow in question. But he looked back at the kid again, watching the blood pressure. Once she was done, he wrote it down carefully. He clicked his pen, chewing on his lip where his lip ring had been. He tapped his pen against his leg, watching Aidan before reaching over to mess with his wedding band again.

Aidan placed the blood measure tube back on the wall, walking away to place her gloves in the trash. Her hands reached into a drawer, bringing out a lollipop and a sticker. "Here ya go," A smile gracefully touched her lips, and she held out the things to the boy. The mom taking away the lollipop.
"Later," She said stern-fully. "The doctor should be in shortly," Aidan ignored the snappiness of the mom. The boy handed her the sticker. Her hands pulled the front away from the back, placing it on his shirt. "Don't you look cute," A laugh rippled over her lips, and the boy joined before waving bye to her and Asher. Outside of the room, Aidan looked around. It seemed like everyone was back in the flow. "Just put the file back on the wall. Go in with a few more nurses," Her eyes wondering around, looking for a few free nurses. "Maddie and Amber," She pointed to the two, "Come see me when your done," Aidan excused herself, walking back to the front desk.

Asher smiled at the little boy, waving at him before he exited the room. He put it back carefully on the wall, listening to her instructions. He nodded slowly, tapping his pen against his leg. "Okay.." He said quietly, walking over to one of the nurses. He explained who he was and what he was there to do before following her into the room. He wrote down the stats of the child then followed her out and into another room before he switched to the other nurse. He helped her with a couple of patients before he made his way back to Aidan. He couldn't help thinking that he should probably wear long sleeves while he was working here. The parents didn't seem very approving of his tattoos. Granted he couldn't cover the ones on his neck, but still.
He knocked on the door before stepping in slowly, twisting his wedding band around his finger. "Uhm.. I helped with the rest of the patients and the waiting room is getting empty.." He mumbled, looking around. "Is it alright if I wear long sleeves under my scrub top or..?"

Aidan had been in the little office, looking over the papers she had received from Asher. Everything seemed to be good. The knock surprised her, her head tilting up. She watched him step in, listening as he talked. "As long as you wear a scurb, and don't become someone we have to look after because of the heat." It was usually cold in the little building, so she knew it wouldn't be that big of deal. Glancing at her watch, she smiled. It was time a for a nice little break.
Pushing back in her chair, she stood, not knowing if Asher was still standing there til' she looked up. "Are you hungry? If not, you got a little time to rest before your back following nurses around." Aidan walked to the door, looking down at his wedding band. The inside of her cheek began to be chewed on as she looked back up at him, deciding not to ask any questions.
