Britt grabbed some chicken from the freezer and started to run it under water. He grabbed the fajita shells and stuck them in the microwave to heat them up before he grabbed a pot of water and put it on to boil, putting the chicken in. 'Always cheating at something.'

"I'm sorry it's fucking frozen. I half assed everything else. Why can't I half ass this?" He muttered to himself, walking back over to the sink to wash his hands.

Zoey opened her eyes as she heard him muttering, but didn't say anything. She stretched some, rubbing at an eyes, and gazed quietly at Scooby Doo playing on the flat screen. She shifted her weight, nestling against the couch.

Once he knew the chicken was thawed enough to cut, he pulled it out and put it on a cutting board. He carefully cut it into strips, threw it in a pan, and seasoned it. Then he walked to the fridge to grab cheese. "What do you want on yours, baby?" He asked, looking back at her.

"Just cheese and sour cream.. It's in the door," she murmured. The chicken smelled amazing. She shifted her weight carefully, gazing set him affectionately over the back of the couch.

"Hey princess." He smiled, wrinkling his nose playfully at her before he grabbed the sour cream and the cheese. He walked to the skillet, flipping the meat over before walking to the microwave to grab the warm shells. He put them on a plate. putting sour cream on Zoey's before he put it back into the fridge. He put her chicken into her's, and wrapped it up, walking over to hand it to her. He put his chicken in his shell, then walked over to sit by her. "There's enough for Tony a snack after school." He said, leaning over to kiss her nose.

Zoey smiled at him sheepishly, watching him finish making their food. "Thank you," She murmured, taking her plate. She wrinkled her nose aslt the kiss, curling up close to him and taking a careful bite of her food. "Mm."

"You're welcome." He smiled, leaning over to take a bite of his food. He leaned back, pulling the cold metal out of his waistband and tucking it under his leg. He heard his phone go off, and sat his plate aside, walking into the bedroom. He talked on it quietly, walking slowly back into the living room. "Did it happen when Monroe- No, I don't think she'd mind if she doesn't have school.. Yeah, we'll be there later.." He listened for a second then hug up and sat down, taking a bite of his food.

Zoey watched him go, gazing back at the television quietoy. She raised an eyebrow in question when he returned. "What was that about?" She breathed, stretching a bit with a content hum at the relaxing feeling.

"Just Jack. Something happened to him at daycare." He said. "Knox said he's in a cast so he's probably going to be miserable." He said, finishing off his food. He rubbed his face, leaning back in the sofa. "There's some.. parasite or something.. Some crazy person went to the daycare.. I'll just let Knox tell you. It's not really my place.." He said quietly. "Do you want me to pack your bags so you don't have to bend over?"

"Oh." Zoey watched him quietly, bit her lip helplessly. She felt like she should be doing it herself. "I can do it, if you won't want.. It's okay.." But just sitting up had her body aching. She huffed.
