Kellin stuffed his hands into his pockets, looking down into the lake and the merpeople swimming just below the shimmering surface. His mismatched eyes wandered from one being to the next, his stomach growling faintly in hunger. He was an animal; it was to be expected. Right? Only the next full moon was nights away, and he had no desire to ruin his favorite pair of jeans. So he started back up the trail to the end of the old, dusty cabin road. He kept his head down as he walked, biting gently on his lip as he decided what to eat.
He looked up at a girl who passed him, and her jaw dropped. But he was used to it. Having one grey eye and one black eye tended to throw people off. And there was no telling where he got it from, either. Probably just some genetic mutation that left him labeled as a freak all through school, turning him into a recluse, if anything.

Devan stumbled faintly, grumbling to herself in agitation. She had tried to actually get some work done and guide spirits, and figured down near the lake would be the best place. She'd been dragged in instead, shivered as she crossed her arms, huffed. Eyes were black, focused on the annoying voices, head throbbing. It was too much, she wanted to get inside, near bumped into a guy and glanced up through sopping wet hair. Werewolf. "S-...sorry."

Kellin looked up, his mismatched eyes searching her face. "It's okay." He said quietly, slipping out of his jacket. He reached around, draping it over her shoulders carefully. He forced a smile, then lowered his head again to keep walking. He wasn't one to be mean unless provoked, especially not to a girl. But he also wasn't one to smile and actually mean it, either. He pushed his hair out of his face, reaching into his back pocket to pull out his wallet. He stopped, counting the money silently before he returned his wallet to his back pocket. He settled on getting a hot dog, and stepped out onto the sidewalk, beating his shoes against it to get rid of the dust.
"Watch it." Someone grumbled as they passed.
"Sorry.." He breathed without looking up.

Devan bit her lip. "You don't-" He stepped forward and bumoed into someone, and she stood there awkwardly. "You don't have to give me your jacket.." She moved to take it off her shoulders, didn't want to have to rely on a guy she didn't know. Eyes swirled slowly between blue and back, spirit cries ringing in and out. The apartment was a decent walk, and it wasn't too chilly out, but enough to make her shiver again. She held his jacket out, biting at her lip.

Kellin looked back, shaking his head. "No, it's okay. It's not a big deal." He said, shrugging his shoulders. He pushed it back towards her, blowing a bubble with his bubble gum. It had lost all it's flavor, was good for nothing but blowing bubbles now. He thought for a second, debating on getting a doughnut instead. He blew another bubble, thinking for a moment. He usually didn't make his own decisions, Jack usually did the deciding for the both of them. But Knox was back and had Jack now. Sure, he got to see him every once in awhile. But it wasn't near as often as he used to see him.
"You want a doughnut? Coffee would warm you up." He asked her quietly, his voice barely above a whisper. He never spoke much to have a need to talk loudly. Except when he was correcting Jack.

Devan hesitantly drew it back on, chewing on her lip again. "Uh, sure.." She really didn't want to have him doing anything fir her, but he had asked, right..?
She managed a smile his way despite the sudden scream in her head, soun as her eyes went black, cringing and looking fir the spirit. She gripped her head faintly.

Kellin nodded, shoving his hands back in his pockets. He started towards the coffee shop, his head down to avoid any looks from anyone. He turned the corner, holding open the door for her. He looked at the doughnuts, chewing on his lip.
"Kellin!" He looked up to see Harper standing there, her hair pulled back. He forced a smile, waving at her. "What you want?"
"I dunno.. I don't have Jack with me.." He said quietly.
"Uh.. Chocolate with sprinkles?" She asked, holding it out. He nodded, taking it from her. He walked back to the counter, looking over at the girl at the register.
"Uhm.. Black coffee.. And my doughnut.." He said quietly. "And whatever she wants.."

Devan glanced up, hugging the jacket around herself, drawing in the new but secure scent as her eyes became their regular color, silence easing her up. "Uh, a black coffee and glazed doughnut, please," She murmured, shifting her weight and running a hand through her damp hair. She looked around for any familiar faces, spotted Trez and Connor. But she didn't know them completely well, aside from knowing Trez what with everything that happened with Xander. She glanced at the guy again. "Thank you...you don't have to pay for me, you know..." Though she guessed everything in her wallet was soaked.

"It's fine.. Really.." He mumbled, watching Harper bring her her doughnut with his mismatched eyes. She smiled at him, and he forced a smile, it dropping quickly when she returned to the bakery. He took out his wallet, handing the woman the money, telling her to keep the change. He heard the girl call for Harper as he made his way to a table. He sat down, sitting down his coffee on one side of the table. He took a bite of his doughnut, looking out the window with little interest. A few more days of rain, the news said. And then they would be set for summer. Save for a few showers, of course. But the spring rain would be going away, as would the cooler weather.
"You have a name?" He asked quietly, looking down at the table. He always felt rude being silent, but never really wanted to talk.

Devan followed him, looking away when Connor glanced her way from laughing at something Trez said. He looked so sick....she was dreading the day she would have to drag him to Hell. Glancing up from sipping at her coffee, she smiled just slightly. "Ah, Devan. You?"
