Jack nodded, finishing off the rest of his fries at the bottom of the box. He tipped it over a bit and fished out the last nuggets, taking a bite out of it "Hims just make me eat." He said, taking another bite of the nugget. He took a sip of his milk, wrinkling his nose because it was warm. He pushed it away, then finished off his nugget. "I have toy now?" He asked, and Knox nodded, getting up to give him back his toy.
Knox took better care of him than his mother could have, not that it was her fault. She had wanted him just as much when she found out she was having Jack, but she couldn't take care of him. She couldn't stop the drugs, either, and ended up going into labor before he was due, delivering a small three pound baby. That was when Knox decided he needed to take care of him. He looked over at Jack, and Jack smiled, waving at him before he drove his car across the tale again. "You ready to go home, boy?" Knox asked.
"No. I like Drew." He said, looking up at her. He smiled, his smile missing a tooth or two.
"Rotten. That's what you are."
"Only cause you." Jack retorted.
"No, you got my attitude. I didn't make you into a flirt." Knox said, but smiled nonetheless.

The McDonalds was just about empty, Drew was down to her last nugget, and she didn't have a plan for the rest of the day. As she watched Jack, it dawned on her that if she had someone else she wouldn't have such a boring day. But she never really liked the feeling of being on an emotional roller-coaster. She smiled at his reply, content to just sit there and watch him play as his dad brought over the toy car. His missing tooth grin was just about the cutest thing she'd seen all day. "I like you too, Jack. But it's best to listen to your dad,"
Drew turned to the own mess she had created. Folding the napkins around the opened sauce, and stuffing both packs into the empty chicken nugget box. She breathed deeply, feeling like she was bout to sneeze. But it never came, her nose scrunched for nothing. 'Well, I look like a fool.' Drew picked up her drink, looking back at the two boys before taking a sip.

Knox looked up, a smile passing his lips. He saved his progress on the drawing, figuring he could finish it at the park. That was where he had promised to bring him after they got lunch. He finished off his drink, tucking his tablet back into the bag. "He should listen, but he doesn't. His mom and dad are both contrary so he's bound to be a mule." He said, throwing his bag over his shoulder. "Ready for the park?"
"I go on spinny thingy?" He asked, holding up his arms. Knox picked him up, putting him on his hip. He picked up his trash, piling it in his box before putting his cup on top.
"If you wanna. I don't care." He said, tossing their stuff in the trash. "Tell Drew bye."
"Bye bye." Jack waved sadly, laying his head on Knox's shoulder.

Drew watched as they packed up. She, too, stood up and grabbed her trash, listening as they talked, Jack giving in to go on the 'spinny thing'. It had turned into a nice day off, after all. "Bye, nice meeting you." She smiled, waving as her trash landed at the bottom of the trash can and they exited through the doors. She figured she could go to the mall, and do some shopping, but doubted it would be any fun. Sighing to herself, she soon exited McDonald's and seeing the family at their car.
Drew gave a smile, and unlocked her car and opened the door. She gave them one last look, before climbing in and starting her car. The loud music made her jump, and the door seemed to swing in suddenly. "Damn, I need to stop doing that." She laughed to herself, turning the music down and then rolling down her windows, backing out of the parking spot.
