Name: Atalanta Cyrene Jaeger
Nickname: Hunter
Age: eighteen
Gender: female
Sexuality: ambiguous
Species: Panthera- Black Jaguar
Position: currently unemployed, but looking for a job
Just A Coincidence?: Sierra Kusterbeck
The Act: Like any feline—or teenage girl—Hunter is solitary, independent, and aloof. She's extremely wary of people, especially strangers, and it takes a long time to earn her trust. (That trust is very easy to shatter, however, and once you've done that, it's almost impossible to regain it.) She far prefers her feline form to her human one, because it's far less restrictive—panthers don't exactly have laws. She can hunt, play, and relax in peace.
She loves swimming, which confounds people who know what she is, until they remember that, duh, jaguars—like tigers and leopards—love swimming. She's very playful as well. If she's comfortable with someone, she loves racing, swimming, splashing in the water, or even just relaxing in the sun with them. Just make sure to keep her entertained, because she's easily bored!
The Memories: Hunter wasn't born in Estenburg—she moved there on her eighteenth birthday, wanting to prove that she was independent, and that she didn't need her family to survive. But back to the beginning.
Once upon a time, two big cats—one spotted, one black—met while taking a midnight swim on a remote island somewhere in the Pacific. After a night playing in the tropical water, they discovered that they were both Panthera—feline shapeshifters—and, coincidentally, both on vacation from New York City. Once back home, they dated for a while, fell in love, got married, the whole shebang. Not long later, they had twin daughters—the golden-haired eldest, who shifted to a spotted jaguar like her father, and the dark-haired baby, who had black fur like her mother. Named Artemis and Atalanta, respectively, they were inseparable for the first few years of their lives.
Atalanta was five when she met Edon Arnou, a French werewolf whose family had just moved into the apartment next to hers. They immediately became best friends, despite the fact that one was feline and the other canine. Edon was the first to call Atalanta “Hunter,” and the nickname has stuck ever since—she refuses to answer to her given name.
When they were fourteen, just after Hunter's baby brother Arion was born, Hunter and Edon heard about a town where inhuman creatures were plentiful and comfortable. Rebellious and restless as they were, the two made plans to move there as soon as they were old enough to leave home. But alas, just before the birthdays that would legally make them adults, Edon's mother fell ill. She was forced to stay home and care for her, but she insisted that Hunter go without her, saying that she'd meet her there just as soon as she could.
So, she did. Two short days after her eighteenth birthday, Hunter arrived in Estenburg. She misses family horribly, of course—especially Artemis and Arion—but it's not as bad as she though it'd be. What was really terrible was leaving Edon.
Anyway, Hunter's brand-new in town, and hasn't even finished unpacking, let alone made friends, found a job, or enrolled at school.
