Oleander sat down on the table, looking around at the photographs they had in the room. Some were of women and their babies, some were sonograms, and some were diagrams- not that she could read the diagrams.
She swung her legs around so they were on the table and she said back, running her fingers over her small stomach. Only her and Scotty would tell you it really was the baby, that she normally had no belly at all. She ran her hands down the legs of her jeans and looked over at Scotty.
"You ready to see your little baby?" She asked. She knew they might not see much, but still- it was their baby.

Scotty was chewing on his lip. He had always hated doctors office's, and doctors themselves. 6 months before he committed suicide he sat in a doctors office by himself, in hopes of getting depression medicine. His mother called him home, not liking that he wasn't home. For the longest time he had wished that he just stayed there, but now that he is experiencing this, he is glad that his life turned out how it did.
"Oh, yea. It's gonna be super cool." he said looking over at her, smiling. He grabbed her hand and held it, rubbing the top of her hand with his thumb.

She squeezed his hand, smiling over at him as the ultrasound tech came in. She smiled at them, then sat down. She grabbed a bottle of what looked to Oleander as blue goop, and pushed up her shirt. She squeezed the stuff onto Oleander's stomach, and she jumped.
"That's cold!" She gasped, and the lady laughed. "Yes, very cold." She turned the monitor around so only she could see it, and began moving the stick around on Ollie's stomach. All she heard was what sounded like water, and she looked over at Scotty. The woman pushed down a little harder and Oleander almost came up out the chair.
"You're gonna hurt it.." She mumbled, squeezing Scotty's hand.
"I'm not gonna hurt them." She said with a smile. "Them?" Oleander asked, and the woman turned the monitor around.
"You're having twins." She said, pointing to the two little black spots.

He smiled at her and rubbed her hand, kissing her forehead knowing that she was scared about what was going on. She wasn't used to things like this, it wasn't natural for her. He tried not to laugh as she complained about the women hurting the baby. "Hun, it's her job. I think she knows what she is doing."
His eyes went wide when the women said twins, he looked at Ollie and smiled, cupping her cheek and kissing her softly. "Twins babe." he whispered looking at her." He bit his lip looking at the screen, looking at his two small children.

"Look.." She said, tears falling down her cheeks. She pulled his hand closer, looking at the picture on the screen. The woman wiped off the cold goo, and handed them the pictures. "The doctor will be in in a little bit." She said, then left.
Oleander held the pictures in her hands, looking at them. "Scotty.. There's two.." She mumbled, obviously in shock. She looked up at him, then pulled him close for a kiss. She handed him the pictures as the doctor came in. She pulled her shirt down, sitting up.
"Well, since it's twins, we're gonna try to keep them in there for at least thirty-six weeks. You're about four now. We don't want them before thirty-three, okay? So you better squeeze your legs tight and keep them in there." He said jokingly, patting her knee. She smiled at him, wrapping her arms around her stomach.
"When can I feel it- them move?" She asked him, looking over at the older doctor.
"Not for another fourteen weeks, at least. Maybe more. It just depends. You got any questions, dad?" He asked Scotty, leaning back in the chair.

He smiled at her wiping away her tears. He stared at the screen, trying to figure out what really was going on. He never thought he would be a dad, and he really never thought that he would be a dad to twins.
He held her cheek and kissed her back slowly. "I love you." he whispered against her lips. Before he pulled away he looked into her eyes and pressed his lips against her forehead.
He nodded listening to the doctor, wanting to make sure that everything went well even if they weren't sure what type of species the kids would be. He was surprised when he addressed him, he coughed and looked over up at him. "No, I'm okay. Thank you." he said softly grabbing Ollie's hand.

She squeezed his hand gently, and the doctor dismissed them. She followed him through the waiting room and out into the parking lot to their car. She wrapped her arms around his neck, tears of joy spilling down her face.
"Oh, Scotty.. I love you." She said, pulling him close and kissing him. She broke the kiss and looked up at him, realizing just how much he really meant to her. "Can you believe it? Little twins." She hugged him again, tighter this time. "Two little babies. Imagine having two little babies."

He smiled down at her, his hands gently pressing against her lower back. He wiped away the small trails of tears that were still on her face and smiled at her. He was so happy with his life, he didn't think he would ever be any happier. She meant the world to him, Ollie and their two small children. That was all he cared about.
"I know..it's crazy." he said holding her close, tucking her hair behind her ears. "We didn't create just one baby...we created two." he said with a smile, truly happy. "It's amazing." he laughed, "I don't know how they are going to fit in you."

"I don't either." She said with a laugh. "They're gonna be fighting for room in there before too long. I just hope they aren't too small and unhealthy.." She said quietly, looking up at him. "I don't wanna go to the hospital either. They scare me.." She mumbled, running her hands up and down his arms. She heard her stomach rumble and looked up at the overcast sky.
"Thank goodness there isn't any sun out today." She said, kissing him gently. "Especially since I have a shoot in an hour or so. They wanted us to go in early, so they could meet us. And you have to sign my stuff for me since I can't write."

"Babe..you might have to go to the hospital. It might be better for the twins if they were born at a hospital...because things go wrong." he said softly not wanting to upset her, but she needed to know that not everyone was born healthy. Plus with twins things could go wrong..get complicated and she might need a C-section. "What if you need to have a c-section?" he said softly holding her hand.
"Should we go get you some food before our meeting then?" he said wrapping an arm around her and walking to his car. "We could go to subway. I think you would like that place." he said with a smile opening the door for her and closing it before he got in.
