Celeste held her books in her hands, waiting on little Annaliis to pick out hers. "Dis one has pretty pictures, mommy!" The small girl with curly hair identical to her mother's said. Celeste smiled, nodding at her.
"Yes, dear. It does." She said calmly, knowing her daughter shared just as much interest in books as she did. "Mommy, I'ma get these. Kay?" The little girl walked over to her mother, handing her two picture books. Celeste shook her head, nudging her towards the register. "Give it to the nice man." She encouraged her. The little girl stood on her tip-toes, putting the two books on the counter. She peeked at him from below it, then nudged them forward a little.
"My books, mister. Aren't they pretty?" She asked him, nudging them closer still. He nodded, taking Celeste's books from her. He rang them up, then let them leave, knowing Celeste would be back to return them. She handed her daughter her books, then guided her out of the store. The little girl toddled ahead of her mother, hugging her books close.

Taaron walked along the street of stores. She was out on her walk, that she took every chance she got. Her eyes scanned the street, studying each person they came across. It was weird how she never got along with people, but they were just fasinating to her. Each individual had something special about them, good or bad. Her hand played with a tiny heart the hung from a chain around her wrist. It was out of habit, everytime she was alone she played with the braclet her mom had given her when she was little.
Her eyes caught glimpse of a small girl with curly locks of brown hair. Then they spotted an older woman with almost the same hair. TK smiled, a mother and daughter. It reminded her of when she was that age, walking around with her mother. "Excuse me, but your daughter is adorable. And your hair is gorgeous." It wasn't something she did often, but when something stuck out in TK's mind it had to be said.

Celeste was watching Annaliis bounce in front of her, hugging her books to her chest. She smiled at the girl who had stopped, calling for her daughter to come back.
"The nice lady said you're cute. What do you say?" She ran a hand through the little girl's hair.
"Fank you, miss lady." She said with a big smile. She held her books out to the girl, looking up at her with bright green eyes. "Me 'n mommy got dees books. 'N we gon' read dem." She smiled, walking closer to the girl. "You wanna wook? Wookit my books?" Celeste smiled, hoping the child wasn't bothering her.

Taaron watched as the little girl bounced happily back to her mom. People weren't Taaron's thing, but kids were just innocent.. at least til they started school. She smiled sweetly as the little girl said thank you and then showed her books to TK. The books held many pictures, suitable for a little girl. "Those are cool." Taaron spoke as she crouched down on her knees to look closer at the books. "Those pictures are pretty." She pointed at the front of the book that displayed various photos.
She looked back up toward the woman, wondering if she was bothering her. "I'm sorry, ha, I must be bothering you." She stood up, and looked down the street. "I'm Tk." It was the name she, now, normally went by. It wasn't that she hated her name, she actually loved her name. She just never felt like giving people her name, it made it more personal. And to Tk, personal wasn't good.

Celeste smiled, shaking her head. "No, it's no bother. I'm Celeste and that's Annaliis. She's so full of energy it makes you tired." She ran her hand through the girl's hair again. She looked lovingly up at her mother, her bright green eyes happy.
"I kin hab a hug?" She asked the girl, holding out her arms. She dropped her books and bent down, picking them up carefully. "I jopped it. I sowwy." She hugged the books close, moving back towards her mother.
"Mommy, I hungry. Miss lady can come eat with us?"
"If she wants to. We're just going to a pizza place around the corner if you want to tag along."

Tk nodded as the woman talked. She had always been awkward in front of other adults, well besides her mom, which was probably why not many liked her. Her eyes dropped as Annaliis asked for her hugs, a small boom seeped into the air as the books fell to the ground. "That sounds like fun." Something about Kids reached the core of Taaron, hit a nerve. They were so innocent, easy going. Why couldn't more people be like that? Then again who was Tk to judge? She had made a few wrong choices in her life, and continued to make them.
"That's a unique name, Annaliis, very pretty." Her eyes scanning the street, once again, as they began to walk toward the pizza place. It was strange for Tk to go along with others, but it seemed harmless enough, and she knew how to protect herself. Her hand reached for the door handle, holding it open for the woman and her child. A blank stare crossed her face as she noticed a familiar face, along with a curl of her lip, but she followed behind the waitress who led the three to a table. Taaron chose the side across from Celeste and her daughter.

"Fank you, miss lady." The little girl said before climbing into the booth with a little help from her mother. Celeste sat down beside her, and Annaliis reached for a menu. She stood up in the seat so she could see. She bent over the menu, pointing at a cheese pizza.
"I wanna dis pissa, mommy." She said, pushing it towards Celeste. "Okay, you can have that pizza. And your drink?"
She looked over the menu again, biting her lip. "I wants a fruity punch. Wiff a bendy straw, kay?" She smiled over at Celeste and Celeste nodded, passing the menu to TK.
"Whatshoo gonna get?" Annaliis asked, laying across the table to look at the menu with her.

Tk smiled as Annaliis as she began to tell her mom what she wanted. It was strange for Taaron to be out with strangers, but something about kids tugged on the strings to her cold heart, warming it if only for a little bit. "Thanks." She picked the menu up from the table and angled it so Annaliis could read as well. There wasn't much to choose from except for pizza, of course, but Tk didn't mind. Pizza was cheap and was about the only thing anyone could make tasteful.
"I was thinking of getting a peporoni pizza slice or two with a Dr. Pepper." Her eyes looked down at Annaliis, as she reached in her pocket to pull out the small, slender wallet she carried around. Purses never seemed to fit right with her. The waiter came over, asking if they were ready to order. "You can go first." Taaron chirpped as she sat the menu back down on the table.
