Zoey smiled at him weakly. "Mm..yeah. Ex boyfriend.. And, father by rape.." She looked down in shame. It wasn't often she would admit to it, either. But he seemed okay enough, wasn't judging.

"Can't say I understand the whole 'ex' thing, but I more than get the rape part." He said, reaching up to run his hand through his hair. He looked down at his shoes, not used to actually having new clothes he could wear.

Zoey just nodded. "It's rough.. I guess you just, find that one person that makes it hurt that little bit less and hold on, you know?"

"My best friend always made it a little more bearable. But I don't think anything ever makes it okay. You never stop wondering when someone's gonna brush you wrong and you'll freak out, or the nightmares you'll get." He checked his watch, then put his hands into his jacket pockets.

Zoey nodded slowly. "Yeah.. I hate it." She rubbed at her nose, stomach churning, and bit down on her lower lip again uneasily.

"I can't promise it ever gets better either." He mumbled, kicking at a stone. He had been through it enough to think it never got better. Once something was broken, it was never quite right again.

"I learned that pretty fast.." She murmured. Something about the kid had Hades acting strange in her head. At conflict almost. He couldn't be human. "Not before I sold the last thing I had though.."

Ace nodded, opening the door to the hospital for her. He smiled at a couple nurses, walking into the break room. He held open the door for Zoey, glancing at his watch. He still had a half an hour before he absolutely had to be at work, so he sat down, putting his booksack at his feet. "Know what you're having?" He asked quietly, glancing up at her before he reached for a magazine.

Zoey shook her head. "My boyfriend, Britton, he's been busy with work. I want to wait until he can be there, too." She smiled faintly, had accepted the fact that Britton wasn't the kid's father, but would always be his dad.

"That's an odd name. No odder than my dad's, I guess. Maybe all dads have weird names." He shrugged, flipping open the magazine on the table. He slowly turned the page, reading an ad with little interest. "But Aerin isn't exactly normal either."
