Kellin watched him carefully, still not sure he should approach him. He nodded slowly, chewing on his lip. He took in a deep breath, trying to think over what he should say. "It's okay to be sad.. Just don't hurt yourself over it.. Everyone gets sad.." He said quietly, bending down to pick a flower. He looked at it, then tossed it away when he realized it had a bug on it. "Why don't you do something happy?"

[cole manaj gryffon]

"But every day it gets harder to be happy.. I can't even pretend nomore.." He mumbled, hiding his wrist absently at the words. "I don't know what to do..." He shrugged a bit, back to pulling on a string on his jeans.

[kellin jon perrette]

"You gotta figure out what makes you sad so you can fix it." He said, which was kind of preaching to the choir considering he didn't even know what happy was, didn't understand there was more to feel than sheer hatred towards everyone. And when it wasn't hatred, it was apathy. The only person he had come close to feeling anything for was Knox, and then he disappeared, leaving Kellin with a kid that wasn't even his and a million unanswered questions.

"Do you have any hobbies? My mom collects books.. That makes her happy.." He mumbled.

Cole just shrugged. "I don't know..." He whispered brokenly, not liking the questions. It felt like counseling, therapy. And he was tired of that, too. He rubbed at his mismatched eye, really wanted Shawn or Sebastian right now. But he knew that wasn't possible. It was stay here, or go back and deal with Jacob.

"Okay.." He mumbled, walking close to the tree line. He kept walking until he came to a small pond, a bunch of snakes swimming around in it. He shuddered, walking over to the water. He looked down, picking up a rock and dropping it to the water. He watched it sink to the bottom, biting his lip. He picked up another one, dropping it to the bottom. He wrapped his arms around himself, watching the water with little interest.

Cole tilted his head, watching him quietly. "Why you even trying to help if you don't know what happy is?" He mumbled, hesitating. He didn't want his next words to mean he would get attacked. "You don't gotta stay so far away.... I can't shift."

[kellin jon perrette]

Kellin shrugged, looking down at the stones he had dropped into the water. "I already told you.. That frown doesn't belong on your face.. It's like putting a dress on a dolphin." He looked over at his next words, not sure what to say. He still didn't want to approach him, but mostly because he was terrified of everyone.

"I guess I don't.. I just like to.." He mumbled quietly.

Cole shrugged, looking away. "I don't have a reason to smile right now I guess.." He mumbled, pulling his buzzing phone out with a frown. He gazed at the text then turned it off, pocketing it again.

"Why don't you go see if your boyfriend is home yet?" He suggested, walking a little closer, but not much. The boy was still another person, someone he didn't even know. And that was enough reason for him to believe that he was going to be hurt by the boy. "I can walk you if you want.." He offered, chewing on his lip. He wanted to go to the store and get something to drink, his throat starting to hurt.

"I guess.." He mumbled, looking at the older guy warily, rubbing at his bruised jaw. Nearly escaping the rape of a vampire, being hit by his drunk brother, and then being yelled at had done damage to what little trust he even had.
