Ace watched her come out, and listened to her with little interest. He didn't want to talk to her, and knew that if he did, she would expect him to talk more. Just like everyone else. And of all the things he could say, his words were simple and quiet.
"I don't need help." He said flatly, looking back down. He didnt need anyones help. He worked at the hospital for crying out loud. He could handle himself, right. Before he could stop himself, he blurted something else out.
"And just because Poseidon is my dad doesn't mean you know me!" He said, never raising his head. He wrapped his arms around his abdomen, not wanting her hands anywhere near him. He didn't want to talk about the abuse or his father and he certainly didn't want to be touched.

Cala's teeth grtted in agitation. "And that makes me your cousin," She snapped. 'Calm, daughter...'
She huffed in annoyance. "Your uncle is my father, you know." She shook her head. "Look, I don't give a fuck about your life, but I don't care what our parents want either okay? You could accept help when you need it, you know. Maybe you wouldn't he so lonely and hurt then."
She didn't know where the words came from, turning to leave.

Ace bit his lip, but her words agitated him too much for him to keep silent. "Until you've been abused and raped over and over and OVER, you'll never know what it's like. There's no such thing as 'help'." He nearly spat, snatching up his booksack from the ground. He turned on his heels, ducking down under the stairs before rounding the rail and bounding up them to his next class. Even if he was a freshman, he was taking junior and senior classes. He didn't have time to sit and waste with someone who claimed to be his cousin. Cousins cared, right? Then he remembered that any of Zeus' and Hades' kids were bound to hate him. And he was okay with that.

Cala heard the words, shaking her head. "You don't know the hell I've been through recently. But I'm nit one to judge so quick, whether my father wants me to hate you or not."
Her eyebrows furrowed and she glanced at the time on her cell phone, didn't want to go to class. She made her way back ito the library for a moment, asking if the lady had a notebook and pencil, would have to explain to her teachers she had lost everything. School stuff, house, parents...
She was dreading walking into class, dealing with questions, but headed that way anyhow.

Ace wasn't surprised to find he was the only boy in Child Development. Nor did it surprise him that all the girls were giving him strange looks. And he guessed his scrubs didn't help that much either. He pulled out his notebook, starting to scribble on the cover. He was lucky to have the one notebook he did. And had learned to write small so he wouldn't take up much room in it. He started adding details to the fish he was working on, not paying much attention. He only needed the class for the hospital.

Cala sighed. Child Development counted for the Health Credit she needed, she had no interest for a child any time soon. Walking in she nearly groaned. No wonder he had seemed vaguely familiar.
Slinking dejectedly towards the teacher, she told her about the fire, voice wavering as she explained she had lost both parents and everything else but her brother
She didn't want to fall behind though. The teacher told her she should take a few days off, but she insisted she get the work and a new textbook.
Given the things, she made her way to her seat.
"Hey, I saw the news, I'm soo sorry about-" "I don't wanna talk about it," She whispered, girls trying to give her sympathy. She shook it off, putting up a mask that things were okay so she would be left alone.
