Monroe just picked up his broken phone, pocketing the sim card. He watched Dyson get up, and Lucas fall to the table. But Monroe didn't budge. He just sat there as Dyson got into it with the football team. And the simple thought of 'yeah, his ass is tight' crossed his mind.

He looked up as Zander grabbed Dyson, dragging him away. "Fuck no! We ain't having this! Break it up or go home." He said flatly. Soon the paramedics were there, tending to Lucas.

"Are you family?" One of them asked Monroe, and he stopped playing with his piercing.

"Me? No. But his boyfriend's that one." He pointed to Dyson, then leaned back.

Dyson growled as he was pulled back, one hand fisted in a guy's hair, the other holding someone by the wrist. He huffed, pulling away and moving towards them, working his jaw. He touched Luc's cheek gently, looking uo at them in agitation and then glaring at Monroe.

Monroe just looked over at him and shrugged, watching them put Luc on the stretcher after a moment. They put a neck brace on him, someone mumbling something about a head injury. Monroe just reached nonchalantly over them, taking Luc's car keys.

"Come on, lover boy." He told Dyson, grabbing the vest and bow tie. He sorted through the keys, finding the familiar one that belonged to Luc's car and walked outside, sliding into the driver's seat.

Dyson gazed down at Luc, rubbing at his face guiltily, and followed Monroe towards the door. He ruffled Cala's hair with a smirk as he passed her, going for indirect contact to get Connor's attention. He managed a reasurring, hesitant smile at him, then walked outside and climbed into the car.

"Luc is never gonna have kids. He takes too much care of this damn car." He said with a shake of the head. He revved the engine, another of Luc's pet peeves, before he pulled out of the parking lot. He drove with his knee as he put his seat belt on. He glanced over at the paramedics putting Luc into the back of the ambulance before he got onto the road, and started towards the hospital.

"I'd ask if you're a heartbreaker, but I'm not much better myself." He shifted in the seat, glancing over at Dyson. "You do know Luc can't go a week without trying to kill himself, right? He's not who you think he is."

"I figured that," He murmured softly. "I made his life hell myself until now." He bit his lip, then shrugged. "I'm not much better, don't think I could ever hurt him again, though. He kniws more about me than anyone else does." He wasn't about to tell Monroe anything, didn't need him knowing. He eyed the clock, wondering if his boss was still waiting for him to show up. Too late now.

"No, I don't mean he's a faggot who's in the closet, or some dumb shit like that. I mean half of your boyfriend has been dead for eighteen years. And I know what you're thinking. 'But Luc's nineteen.' He ran out in the road when he was a little kid and was hit by a car. And he died. And now you've got Kurt Cobain." He wiggled his fingers, pulling into the hospital parking lot.

"Funny story. Now you know." He shrugged, getting out of the car.

Dyson winced at the first words, teeth gritting together, tempted to say something in retort. But as Monroe continued, he blinked in confusion. "Crazy ass," He muttered under his breath, shifting his weight in discomfort. He rubbed at his wrist again, jumped as his phone started to ring. He glanced down at his boss' number and swallowed, sending it to voicemail. It rang again a moment later.

"You don't believe me? When he wakes up, ask him how Nirvana should be spelled. He's gonna say 'in all capital letters'. Ask him why Frances Cobain's middle name is 'Bean' and what time she was born. Go ahead. Your boyfriend is a suicidal nut job. But he's a good lay." He walked into the hospital, asking the woman at the desk if where he was. She said that he was awake, but they were doing scans, so they had to wait. After a little while, a nurse came and lead them into the room where Luc was.

"Hey.." Luc mumbled, and Monroe waved lazily.

"Hey, crazy." Monroe said, sitting down in a chair.

Dyson gritted his teeth even more in response, sent the next call to voicemail and got out, stubbornly silent. When they were led back to the room, he gazed quietly at Lucas, just studying him a moment, and then looked around with a gusty breath. His phone started buzzing again, and suddenly he needed time to think about, was agitated and confused, and mumbled something about work under his breath, working his jaw. He sat down near Luc's bed, silent. 'Don't want to be here..' He thought with dread, knowing his sister wasn't far away.
