Blake was just about to doze off when she heard Rex's voice. She had decided she didn't even want to think about the baby, didn't even want to acknowledge that she had been pregnant at any point. "You're okay?" She asked sleepily, only vaugely aware that she had on nothing as she sat up, wrapping her arms tightly around his neck. She kept close to him, closing her eyes as she laid her head down on her arm, gently kissing his neck. "Just hold me.. I'm so tired." She said drowsily, hugging him tightly. "I'm just glad you're here.. That was so scary.."

"I'm sorry..I shouldn't have made you do that," He whispered, tilting his head at the kiss. "For two shots to the back, I'm okay...It's alright.." He kissed her temple gently, hugging her close. He could feel her bare skin, but knew he had no shirt now, either. "Come on..cover yourself up and let's go home, okay? You need a break." He drew in the familiar scent of her hair, her shampoo. "It's all gonna be alright now, yeah? We're gonna be okay.." Sure, he had been getting excited to have a little son or daughter, but it was what it was and he couldn't let the thoughts linger.

She couldn't help wondering how a couple nights at Rex's had turned into 'home' when her home was clearly this bunk. She leaned down to reach under her bed and pull out the box with her clothes in it. She pulled on a baggy shirt, and a pair of jeans, the lowest rise she could find. Her stitches were so low, one was bound to get caught. 'That's what you get' she thought. She took Rex's hand gently, pulling him slowly to his feet. "I don't think you'd be much help finding my shoes.." She said, looking around. She found her flip flops and slipped them on.

"Where are you going?" The guy with the now bandaged nose asked.

"To hell if I don't pray." She muttered, holding on tighter to Rex's hand. "You'd think getting your nose broken would teach you to shut up." She said.

"You'd think being only kinda pregnant wouldn't have turned you into a bitch when it died."

"Real mature. That sure is getting around fast." She said, rolling her eyes.

Rex chuckled faintly. "No, I don't think I would be much a help with that," He breathed, shifting his weight from foot to foot. He held her hand close, growing wary at the voice, especially when Blake's grip tightened.. Sightless eyes grew agitated, angry as her pregnancy was mentioned.

"Hey, why don't you shut the fuck up before I beat your face in? What are you anyway but a replacement?" He growled, shoulder hitting the other guys harshly, on purpose. It was a feat, considering he couldn't see where he was. He unhooked the folded cane from his belt room, leading Blake to the idling car and thanking the officer driving them.

Blake followed him silently, kept telling herself not to let it bother her. The baby was an accident, anyways, right? She climbed in beside him, curling up at his side. "Hey.." She smiled at the other officer, her hands playing absently with Rex's. She laid her head on his shoulder, holding his hand tightly. She brought his hand to her stomach, thinking back to the first time she had done it. "I have like.. seven stitches." She said. "Five down here and two up by my ribs. I must've fallen on something.. But the one's by my ribs hurt worse." She said, closing her eyes. She slowly ran her hand up his arm, biting her lip.

"Hey, baby." She said, reaching over to scratch Dakota's head.

"Hey," The guy murmured with a smile. "You know Rex, that kid wants to thank you as soon as your okay with it."

Rex smiled. "when I come back I'll have him come in," He murmured, voice trailing as Blake brought his hand to her stomach. He ran his fingers gently over the marks, biting at his lip. "Ouch.." He murmured sympathetically. He hugged her a tad closer, careful not to hurt either of them. "I bet, ribs are always a pain.."

"You and your broken ribs." She teased, keeping close to him. She was better with the idea that it would just be the two of them now that he was there. But she felt completely broken when she was alone. 'I can't lie to myself..' She thought, running her hand across his chest. "You should take a hot shower and go to bed." She told him. All she wanted to do was curl up and watch TV. She slowly ran her fingers up and down his chest, closing her eyes. "I'm glad you're okay.." She breathed, resting her hand on his stomach. "I don't think I can do this on my own.."

Rex chuckled. "Yeah, me and ribs," He scoffed, Closing his eyes. "Mm..I will.. as long as you lay with me." He stretched some. "I would never make you do this alone, Blake.. ever okay? You just gotta give me a call when you need it." He kissed her cheek, felt the car roll to a stop and thanked the guy before letting Dakota out and helping Blake out as well. He handed her the key, following them inside. "Go curl up in bed and watch some TV with 'Kota, I'll be in in a moment.." He gently found her lips with a soft kiss, wandering to the bathroom, and worked off his jeans, removing the bandages before searching out a towel and setting it aside with a clean change of briefs.

He started the water, climbing in, knew where everything was to make it easier and washed off before shutting off the water and getting out, drying carefully and pulling the briefs on. He ran a hand through damp hair, fingers trailing the wall as he made his way to the bedroom. His shoulder hit the frame of the door. "Ow, fuck," He complained, huffed in agitation at his own stupidity before finding the bed and carefully crawling under the blankets.

Blake pulled off her shirt and jeans and climbed in the bed and under the blankets. She patted the bed, letting Dakota know he could jump up. When he got up, she wrapped her arm around him, reaching over for the remote. She watched it sleepily, curled close to the big dog. "You're such a good puppy." She told him, rubbing his stomach. She looked up as Rex came in, couldn't help thinking how incredibly handsome he was, especially with nothing on. 'That's what got you pregnant..' She thought, sitting up a bit in the bed.

"All clean?" She asked, leaning over when he got in to give him a soft kiss. She laid down, pulling the blankets up so they at least covered her waist.

"Mm, definitely, He murmured, smiling into the kiss. He curled up close to her, chuckling as Dakota nudged his hand, and scratched behind his ears gently, yawned. "What are you watching?" He murmured absently, tenderly running a hand through her locks of hair. He couldn't believe that of all people, she had wanted him. Just the thought brought a smile to his face.
