Dallas walked out to the car, buckling in Bandits seat before climbing into the car. She took her wallet and keys out of the bag before setting the bag in the back. She looked back as Christy got in.
"What kind of cookies are we making? The ones with the big chocolate chips?" She asked with a smile.

Connor followed them, setting Bandit gently in her seat and strapping her in before getting into the passenger side as Christy clambered into the back. "Yesss!" Christy huffed with a giggle, nodding.
Connor chuckled, coughing huskily into an arm for a moment.

"Okay." She said with a laugh. She waited for everyone to get situated, then she pulled out of the driveway. She stopped at the store, telling Connor she would be out in a minute before running in. She came back out with a bag, and put it in the back seat. She heard Bandit in the back, babbling about something.
"She sure does like to tell stories, huh?" She said with a smile, starting the drive to the apartment.

"Yeah," Connor murmured, gazing over his shoulder at her in amusement. He smiled at Christy, then straightened up, shifting his weight some as he glanced around outside.
Grateful wasn't a word that could describe how he felt about all of this. About what Dallas and Deacon were doing not just for him, but for Christy as well. The idea of a check up scared the shit out of him, surgery seemed dreadful. But none of it mattered right now. Because right now, for once, he was okay...
