Devon nodded, hugging him close. He got carefully to his feet, glaring at the less familiar nurse from the safety of Zander. She apologized and he looked away stubbornly, watching her head for the door. He suddenly didn't want to walk the halls, be held back. He glanced at Zander, taking his hand extremely gently, and followed her.

Zander walk beside him, hoping that would make him feel a little better. He squeezed his hand gently, staying close to him. "Everything's gonna be okay. Don't be scared. They're here to help you.." He said softly, leaning over to kiss the side of his head. He reached his other hand over, rubbing Devon's arm gently.

Devon chewed on his snakebites, keeping close. "Okay..." He mumbled uncertainly. He hesitated as the were led into a large room and the door was closed. But it was spacey and not confined, not restricting. "Devon?" The nurse turned towards him. "After we finish the main part of this, I'm going to need you to shift for me, okay?" Devon swallowed. "I don't wanna.." He mumbled, studying a fifty pound weight curiously. He held Zander's hand, lifted it with a faint huff. The nurse blinked.

Zander raised an eyebrow at the nurse when she mentioned him shifting. He hadn't seen Devon any other way than with wings. And he didn't think he wanted to. His dad was a monster enough as a human. He didn't want to see Devon as a monster, too. "I'm gonna be over there, okay? I'm not leaving." He said, kissing his cheek gently. He walked over to a corner of the room, sitting down slowly. He folded his arms over his knees, watching the two from the distance he was at. 'I just want Devon back..' He thought, chewing on his lip.

Devon nodded, watching him go. He was perfectly fine as the nurse explained how to do things. So long as she wasn't touching him, he didn't have a problem with her. It was like basic sports training for the most part. And he did incredibly well, benched a surprising amount of weight even if he only looked average. Push ups, pull ups came with ease once he got the gist of them. He was more at ease now that he could do something, proud of himself. But it was also made clear exactly how strong he was. And adding blind rage to such ability spelled danger.
After awhile she carefully handed him a bottle of water. "Go take a break while I write some things down." He took it, wandering over to Zander.

Zander watched him, realizing just how dangerous Devon could be, and why he shouldn't make him mad. He didn't wanna be on the other side of that power. He smiled up at him as he came over, moving over a bit so they could share the corner. "You did better than me. I get winded running up a flight of stairs." He checked his phone, then put it under his leg, crossing his arms across his chest. He ran through his schedule for tomorrow, knew he had to get another brain scan, go to therapy, do some sort of grocery shopping, and get a new pair of jeans because he lost his good pair to the bleach bottle.
"I don't wanna go to therapy.." He grumbled, then chewed absently on his lip.

Devon smiled, sitting down and sipping at his water as he listened to him. His brows furrowed at the unfamiliar word. "What's that..?" The nurse finished recording things, staring at the papers in disbelief at some of the things they asked.
"Devon." She wandered towards them with a small sheet of metal. One could probably bend it at least a little it they tried. "You want to stand up for me? We have a few more things to finish."
He stood slowly, taking off his shirt when asked. He bit at his lip, and after some lersuasion, forced his rugged wings from his back with a faint grimace. Teeth grew slightly longer, claws coming back out. He bit his lip, but this form caused it to bleed, and he didn't dare look at Zander. She asked him to bite into the metal if he could. The thing was destroyed with the strength of a jaw made to bite through bone. She measured the span of massive wings when he spread them, asking about scars until he started to grow upset.
"Okay...you have one other form right?" He nodded, climbing out of his pants and turning away at her permission to pull off his boxers. And then he was shifting into a large black dog. It wasn't some cute wolf but a bloodthirsty killer of a beast. He sat down as she took measurements, watching Zander intently with slightly bloodshot, baby blue eyes. Even the gentle thump of his tail couldn't mask what such a for as this was for, killing, eating, survival.

Zander looked over at him. "Therapy? Uh.. It's a bunch of memory stuff. Flipping over cards to see if I remember them and trying to remember little sayings until I go back because when my dad beat me this last time, he caused brain damage and I have short term memory loss." He watched him get up again and walk over to the nurse. He didn't seemed bothered by his wings, at least not now. But when he turned to shift into something else, Zander lowered his head, picking at his fingers in his lap. 'Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered, weak and weary.. Once upon-' He continued reciting the bit of the poem in his head, afraid to look up. He chewed on his lip, careful not to pick at his nails so much that he drew blood. He didn't want Devon to come over, not right now. He was terrified of anything that wasn't human, and many people that were.

Devon gazed at him until he realized he wasn't going to look up. He stood, wanted to go to him. "Devon stay here." Huffed, he glared coldly at the nurse, growing imlatient. She wrote a few more things down before telling him he could shift back. He did, pulling on his clothes, and padded back towards Zander, sitting down and hugging him close.

Zander hugged him tightly, more than happy to have his normal Devon back. He looked him over, then pulled the boy into his lap, wrapping his arms tightly around him. He kissed his neck gently, rubbing his back slowly. He didn't want to let him go, he wanted to take him home, where he would be safe. He leaned up, kissing him gently.
